Hey Rider Nation! I'm here from Melbourne, Australia, to see the Riders' next three games, and I want your best tips for what to do in Regina, how to have fun in Montreal as a Riders fan, and if possible, any tips on how to get a bottle of the whisky that was released for our Grey Cup victory last year.

The Riders are the only team I follow, so any tips will be gratefully taken on board for my first trip to Canada for the next 18ish days.

Thanks in advance,

T

Hey everyone,

I've recently got an LX of Marketplace (53 serial number). Seemed in beautiful condition, had been in storage for 9 years. First roll through it was perfect until the last few shots, then the mirror was really sluggish.

I took it to a well regarded service place in Melbourne that's fixed another of my (albeit much simpler) Pentaxes before. I said the mirror was sticking and was told the issue wasn't the mirror, it's the metering. I'm not a technician, I left it in their hands.

I think they gave it a CLA, but they told me the issue was that it needs a new shutter box, and as they couldn't fix it in the time I needed it, they gave it back to me without charging me (but quoted over $800 to do it).

I've played with it today with the mirror locked up, and the shutter seems fine to me, but the mirror is sluggish. On video I could only catch the mirror not working at all, but it does sometimes behave for five or six shots.

Any advice on whether this actually is sticky mirror, and whether you think it's salvageable or if I should cut my losses and try to find another one would be much appreciated. This is one of my dream cameras.

Thanks in advance!
