I bought pentax optio 555 as my first camera ever!

So i got interested in buying a camera so i decided to buy a random camera of avito (russian ebay) and i saw a pentax optio 555 so i bought it for 10000 rubles in june and i LOVE it , it is just so cool and i love the possibility of not having autofocus (sound strange yet for me its true and just love the feel of full control over my photos) i found out about many concepts of having exposure , iso , white balance out of it and im gonna give some examples of what ive shoot so far i really liked shooting landscapes with it and im already planning to get my first dslr which would be pentax k200d and already found a listing on avito with a great price and great condition

Equipment I no longer need

Hello all, just wondering if this is an appropriate place to post a message about some equipment I have that was my father‘s which I can no longer use, I figured I would start here and see if there was any market for something that I might be able to sell. Sorry if this is not the appropriate place but it is a Pentax K 10 DSLR with a wide angle, lens and a tele photo lens in excellent condition, no local camera shops want to buy it, so I’m starting here, thanks for any guidance you guys can provide.

Picked up my grail CCD Pentax DSLR with kit lens, SD card, battery, charger, case, and sync cable for $65

This was listed on FB Marketplace place for $70 for weeks until I finally picked it up Saturday night on my bike ride for $65. It came in an excellent large Pentax case along with 4 fresh AAs and a 512MB SD card. It works great and I even got some nice night shots along the ride I'll share later. Hoping I can run it off RCRV3s provided proper 3V voltage output and use it with some nice film era AF Pentax glass. I have a Pentax F 35-80mm f/4-5.6 SMC, Pentax Takumar F Zoom 70-200mm f/4-5.6, and Sigma 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 II Macro Zoom on the way. Hoping to use this for macro, nature, landscape, and urban streetscape photography, primarily on bike rides. Quite a fitting return to Pentax for me as I got started with photography using an Asahi Pentax K1000 and two lenses (50mm and 70-210mm IIRC) I got at a yard sale 20 years ago for $10.

Pentax SP II Belichtungsmesser - gibt es dafür eine Lösung?

Hallo Zusammen,

habe eine richtig schöne SP II gefunden. Schick und alles funktioniert - NUR der Belichtungsmesser nicht.

Habe unterschiedliche 1,5 Volt Batterien versucht.

Unusual Pentax KM

My Pentax km on the front has the text "asah Pentax" instead of the normal "asahi Pentax". Does anyone know what this means? Is it a mistake of fabrication?

Everything on the camera seems legit and not replaced with a non-original part. It also has the audemars piguet warranty.

Let me know if anyone has an idea of what that means.

What is this adapter for?

This adapter came with my Pentax Spotmatic and I can’t find what it is for. It fits on my Spotmatic but I don’t know what fits on the other end. I’ve tried googling it and I can’t find anything. Google lens wasn’t much help either. I think it may be a P/K adapter. Thanks in advance

First Roll Thoughts

Just received my first roll of back from the lab and I’m very impressed with how they came out. I shot on a Pentax K1000 with Gold200. I’d love to hear your feedback on what you think as I am new to film photography. Any feedback is appreciated!

Hi I’m need need of assistance reassembling a lens.

I have a Pentax-A 50mm F1.7 lens, which I attempted to clean the back element and so I took off the back plate.. which I realised I don’t have to. Now I have pieces that have fallen out and have no clue where they go back. I’d appreciate it if anyone would be able to help me reassemble this as I want to use it on my modern mirrorless Sony camera.

Pentax 75mm F2.8 + GFX 100 S II + Kipon adapter

The Pentax 645 75mm f/2.8 is performing well:

  - Good to very good central resolution.
  - Strong portrait detail on the 102 MP sensor.
  - Attractive, smooth background rendering.
  - Good contrast in normal and moderately backlit conditions.
  - Modest chromatic aberration.
  - No obvious distortion problem.
  - No image-circle issue.
  - No convincing decentering.
  - Some normal susceptibility to veiling flare in intense scattered backlight.

The photo of the tree trunk is a demanding backlit scene, yet the tree retains strong blacks. The foliage shot looks a bit washed out, but this is scene specific as the frame is filled with bright scattered light.

For a 75mm this lens is short and light.

Shake reduction and other settings grayed out

Does anyone here know how to troubleshoot some of the grayed out settings in Pentax Q7 camera? Shots are great when it has its flash opened but it gets blurry when the flash is turned off.

Those said settings still don’t work in any camera modes (Auto, SCN, BC, etc.).

Displaying images as taken captured through Image Transmitter 2

Hi all,
Ok, so Image Transmitter display’s relatively low res images as you take the photos - no biggie, the full resolution image is stored which should work out. Just wondering what software others use to display a higher resolution version as the pictures are stored on the local laptop drive. Normally I use Excire Foto for general cataloging, but it won’t update the folders in real time so it won’t work. Basically, looking to use two tools to operate similar to Smart Shooter or Capture one. With a K3 III I kind of need Image Transmitter to do tethered transfer but I’d prefer a higher resolution display as I take the photos…

Fuji GFX 100S2 + Pentax 645 35mm + Kipon

The lens is great, minor chromatic aberration, minor focus issues at the edges wide open. Good color contrast. Picked up from eBay, no haze or fungus.
