Shoutout to TorBox – Loading times have improved massively over this week!

Hey everyone, just wanted to share a quick appreciation post and see if anyone else is experiencing the same.

I joined TorBox around late last weekend, and honestly, the loading times at the start were pretty rough. I was getting a lot of long buffer screens before streaming started, and things felt a bit sluggish even into the early part of this week(I'm talking about the time it takes from when you click play on the link to when it starts streaming).

But recently, all movies are now loading up in less than 10 seconds. I know "under 10 seconds" might not sound like crazy lightning speed to some people, but compared to how rough it was a few days ago, it’s a night and day difference for me(I'm talking about 20-40 seconds waiting time).

Not sure if it’s backend optimizations, CDN routing sorting itself out, or just me hitting better-cached links, but the experience has leveled up completely.

Shoutout to the devs if they are fixing things behind the scenes!

What’s your average wait time from clicking a link to the movie actually playing?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to gauge if my current setup is normal or if I need to tweak some settings.

When you click on a cached link using TorBox, how long does it usually take for the video to actually start playing for you?

Lately, I’m noticing a pretty significant delay—sometimes a 20 to 40-second loading screen before the stream finally opens. It seems to get way worse during peak evening hours, even on files that are confirmed as cached. If possible provide:

  1. Average wait time: (Is it instant, 5-10s, or 30s+?)

  2. CDN Setting: Are you using Auto, or did you manually switch to Cloudflare/Bunny?

Just trying to see if this is a known API compute bottleneck on TorBox's end during high-traffic times or if there's something I can optimize on my side.

Looking for 2 people to cost-share a TorBox Debrid account.

Torbox is a service which caches movies on their high speed servers such that when you stream movies/series they load instantly, just like Netflix. Also movies are available in 4k so you're getting the best of the best. The account is just $3 usd so for 3 people it's just $1 usd pp. You plug it to an app like stremio and you'll stream anything in 4k for a fraction of the cost. You can research more about it since I've not gone into detail about it but I think it's a really good service for the price, basically reliable movie streaming without the hoops of searching for websites and endless buffering.

Anyone interested?

I've been really happy with the recent upgrade overhaul in internet speeds across most fibre ISPs, it's high time we stop paying for dumb slow speeds. What do you guys think?
