I Need Help So I Can Stay in School
I am 13 years old, and I have been thinking about starting a side hustle to earn some money. One idea I have is collecting and selling copper as recyclable scrap metal because it can sometimes be worth a good amount. I know that selling scrap metal takes time and effort, but I think it could help me save money if I do it honestly and legally.
I have also been thinking about other ways to earn money that are appropriate for someone my age, such as collecting recyclable materials, washing cars, doing yard work, cleaning houses, helping neighbors with simple chores, delivering groceries for nearby people, or reselling items that I no longer need. My goal is to become more independent, learn useful skills, and save money for my future.
The reason I want to earn money is that I am worried about my future. I am afraid that my parents might abandon me or stop supporting my education, and I want to be prepared in case that happens. I hope that never becomes a reality, but having some savings would make me feel more secure and give me a better chance of continuing my education. I believe that working hard, making responsible choices, and saving money are important steps toward becoming independent while continuing to focus on school.
