My 2020 HSE p400 has halo out. What’s the fix? There’s no defenders in my local salvage yard. Anyone pull it apart, replace the board and reinstall?

Was out playing potable cw today and was having an off day slapping the paddle. Hunted an instructor and totally embarrassed myself w/errors. The time before I sent some proud clean code. This time…Junk. I just hope they don’t recognize my CS. Sheesh.

Another station I completely bombed on has a beautiful bug fist, one to be envious of. And that likely why I stumbled through that QSO. AGN, I’ve worked him in the past w/a decent fist but this time. Sheesh. I wanna crawl under a rock.

What’s an embarrassing moment for you while playing cw? Mind sharing?

Learned cw at 12 wpm counting. 6mo in and still count. Though I can do LCWO 4 character words at 32-36 wpm I break it down in my head so I hear them fast and slow them down instead of hearing them as a chunk.

The question I have is, will in time, counting go away? I’ve activated POTA taking 4/5 repeats to get a call correct. (If I’ve worked you TU fer ur patience.)

I have a kh1 as does a friend. deployed a EFHW 33’ for 20m, using same coax one radio matched 2:1 the other 5:1. All things the same. Why is one matching better?

I can’t seem to get this antenna to a usable swr

About a random wire antenna w/counterpoise matches better than a resonant wire antenna.

Random wire 15, 17, 20, 40m >1.5:1 match
The other only 20m (though is a multi band wire) 2.5:1 best match.

Needless to say, I don’t use the 150$ wire and just use the 50$ speaker wire to make them QSO.
