TW: Thoughts about death and suicide

Today, me and my family were supposed to go to the mall to watch a movie but then my cousin started having thoughts about death and suicide. He was feeling fine this morning looking forward to go to the mall listening to music that is high in energy then an hour later He is listening to music that is depressing.

We stopped by for a bathroom break he had a panic attack and started crying to me something is wrong. Then we arrived in the parking lot in the mall he was already panicking and crying saying he needed to be alone somewhere but my friend said to him just stay in the car alone which got him even more upset so I had to separate my cousin and my friend away from each other. While my friend went to the movies I accommodate my cousin to a nice, quiet place to eat inside the mall so he ordered what he liked and started to feel better when he eats and then he told me that he didn't like that his neighbor said the following.

1. Just give it to Jesus

2. I pray that you will be off your medication one day

3. Religious Psychosis is not real

4. Come to church

5. Jesus will heal your bipolar

He injects Christianity to my cousin that it triggers him a lot to a certain point he didn't understand him better. So he shared his bipolar to me and as the conversation goes on I listened to him on how he feels. He felt better afterwards so he didn't have those thoughts anymore and he appreciated when I said I will be there for him no matter what.

I wanted to ask what should I do to help him? Can anybody give me ideas on what or what not to say to someone that has bipolar? I don't want to hurt him in anyway shape or form.
