Hi! This will be my first admin interview and was wondering some questions that are typical and things I should ensure I emphasize. Thank you!

Hey everyone! This group is very helpful. I’m currently a teacher with a MED in special ed and a MED in school leadership, with certification. My district starts back in 2 weeks, and I have a student teacher starting with me. However, I was just asked to come interview for an AP spot in a different district next week.

Realistically, going straight from a teacher to AP without a coaching or official leadership role (I have my administrative internships and other school/district committees I’ve led and served)- does this happen? I’m conflicted on even going. My ego from other coaching interviews this summer (that were hired in house) is kind of bruised. I would love a leadership role, but love my current district. I guess I’m just looking for unbiased opinions on if I should cancel the AP interview or not. Thank you for reading!
