Tutorial: How to Duplicate Any Item in Road to Vostok
############
Quick introduction:
In my last post, a lot of people thought I was using mods — but nope, no mods at all.
I played the game normally, found all the items legitimately, usually only one copy of each, and then figured out this save-file method that I’m sharing with you guys now.
Even though I enjoy tactical survival games, what really caught my attention in RTV was the whole safe house/base setup before going into Vostok.
So my personal playstyle in Road to Vostok is more about building and organizing the base than hardcore survival itself.

This guide shows how to duplicate items by manipulating the game save files.
In this example, I’m using the Attic, but the same method works with any safe house storage location.
Step 1 — Preparing the Item
- Launch the game.
- Pick the item you want to duplicate.
- Store the item inside a safe house location:
- Attic
- Cabin
- Tent
- Bunker
- Class
- Exit back to the Main Menu.
Step 2 — Finding the Save Files
- On Windows, press: WIN + R
- Type: %appdata%\Road to Vostok
- Press Enter.
You should now see several save files used by the game.
Recommended:
Create a backup folder somewhere on your desktop and copy all the save files before editing anything.
Step 3 — Saving the Safe House State
Inside the save folder, locate the file for the safe house location where you stored the item.
Example:Attic.tres
Copy this file somewhere safe.
At this point, the copied file contains the saved state of the safe house WITH the item still inside.
Step 4 — Moving the Item to Your Character
- Go back into the game.
- Remove the item from the safe house.
- Place it into your character inventory.
- Exit back to the Main Menu again.
Now the game has saved:
- the item on your character
- the safe house storage as empty
Step 5 — Restoring the Old Save
- Return to:
%appdata%\Road to Vostok - Take the old
Attic.tresfile you copied earlier. - Paste it back into the original save folder.
- Replace the existing file when Windows asks.
Step 6 — The Result
Launch the game again.
Now you should have:
- one copy of the item in your inventory
- another identical copy still inside the safe house
This method should work with basically any storage location as long as you replace the correct .tres file.
Bonus Tip:
1- You can also edit the Character.tres file to modify your character stats and health values.
2-If you know the ID of an item, you can manually edit:
- item quantity
- durability/condition
- inventory values
