Pinckney, Portage Lake
I have fished SE MI for several years, but this year I got a boat slip on Big Portage Lake in Pinckney. Game changer as far as being able to get out more regularly. I can cast docks for largemouth and the occasional smallmouth all day, but I’d like to get serious about learning this lake and targeting other species.
The pattern I’ve been trying to crack recently is that I’m marking plenty fish suspended around the few shallow humps on the main lake. Seems like they stay within a few feet of the thermocline. I’m having a tough time getting anything in those areas to move.
Anyone on here know the lake (or any of the other lakes on the chain) that could share some tips? I’m looking for any and all tips, not just the pattern I’m working on right now.
