Nightmares

I started taking Lamotrigine 3 days ago, I’m on 25mg and I’ve been having some really disturbing and vivid dreams. Is this normal and if so does it ever go away?

Starting Lamotrigine today.

Hey everyone, today my psychiatrist prescribed me Lamotrigine. The symptoms I have are VS(static, floaters, trails, afterimages) depression, anxiety, OCD, DPDR, and brain fog. I will be starting at 25mg and then move up to 50mg after 2 weeks. If I see any benefits or improvements in my symptoms I’ll definitely update you guys. Wish me the best🙏🏼

Vent

I’ve smoked cannabis regularly since I was around 16. I stopped this year because, after years of using it. I also have experienced with other drugs.
When I was around 20, I had a very intense panic attack that seemed to completely change the way I experienced my life. Shortly after that panic attack, I began experiencing visual snow and also developed what I believe was OCD. I started feeling like life wasn’t real and was constantly in a daze. I became extremely focused on my thoughts and started overanalyzing almost everything.
My anxiety and mental state became so bad that I was essentially bedridden for about 8 months. Eventually, I reached a point where I told myself that I didn’t want to live that way anymore, so I started forcing myself to do the things I used to do. I started working, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, and trying to live my life normally. I began smoking cannabis again and also began to drink alcohol**.** I continued doing those things for many years afterward. Although I became more functional, I want to make it clear that I wasn’t actually free from the problem. I was still very anxious, constantly in my head, dealing with OCD and intrusive thoughts, and I feel like I learned to suppress or mask a lot of it so I could function and continue living my life.
Over the following years, I went through a lot of changes, including falling out with friends, dating, and eventually getting into a relationship.
During the past year, cannabis started affecting me differently. Instead of helping me relax, it began making me very anxious, so I decided to stop. After stopping cannabis I noticed I was more in my head and felt completely burnt out to the point where I quit my job which was a great opportunity.
Since stopping cannabis, I’ve noticed that I feel much slower mentally. I have significant brain fog, I don't feel like I can communicate as naturally or quickly as I used to, it takes me forever to think about what I want to say whether if it’s in person or through text, phrases and terms that used to just come to me don’t anymore and sometimes I know what I want to say but I just can’t put it into words. My mind is just blank but at the same time I feel like I’m constantly stuck inside my own head. I can’t retain or learn information and my memory is really bad. But what bothers me most is being blank when having a conversation. This week I have an appointment with a neurologist and a psychiatrist and I’m hoping they can give me some sort of answer or prescribe me something that helps with these symptoms cause I can’t do this anymore. I just want control of my life again
