Ticks are bad this year and will likely get worse with climate change. Have we combatted this with science yet?

Starting my TY soon but my eventual residency location has high Spanish speaking population and phone interpreters are so hit or miss. I took French in high school (why???) and don’t speak other languages so really would start at square one. I have a few friends who are native speakers I could practice with though!

Any tips or suggestions? Feel like if I can memorize a bunch of dumb eponyms for medicine I have a decent shot at achieving at least conversational Spanish.

Im starting intern year next month (yikes), and I am nervous. The schedule isn’t the worst but I’m still feeling extra dumb and intimidated by how much I’ll be in the hospital on ICU months
