Just booked with Dr. Z for a month out! Nervous and excited. I’m likely going to stay the night in San Diego before flying back home the day after the procedure. Looking for recommendations from any and all who have seen him, specifically:
-San Diego hotel. How was your experience of that first post op night?
-Pain management. Is there anything I should bring with me to be prepared? I’m looking at getting one of those wisdom tooth facial ice pack head wraps.
-Food. Were you able to eat anything after the surgery or was it too painful? Did you stick mainly to smoothies/soft foods?
-Transportation. Since I’ll be going solo, probably going to look into having transportation set up so I don’t have to worry about Ubers. Would going by car affect the border crossing time? Is it worth it to get the medical pass?
I’m wondering if it would be helpful to spend a little more and have a hotel room that has a microwave/mini fridge or if it doesn’t really matter.
Gladly accepting any other recommendations too!
So I want to get chin lipo, I had jawline filler back in April of this year.. has anyone gotten chin lipo after their filler treatment? Is it safe to do? Or will it ruin the filler results overtime?
So this was my original post from 6 months ago, 6 months into my post op. Today I'm at a year. In the last 3 months, I've seen the most drastic changes! I really thought I got scammed at first.
Got my chin lipo with dr Zuriel this morning! And flew back home, am now resting in bed. He only gave me Tylenol, is this anyone’s else’s experience? I’m in so much pain. Wondering if this is normal / what you all did for pain?
I got chin lipo with jaw contouring, face tite, endolift and buccal fat removal. With the faja and medications, I paid $2830 for everything. I also stayed at the Body by Plastique recovery house for $218 for 2 nights. I get post op lymphatic massages professionally 45 mins everyday. Healing great.
probably the best thing ive ever done for myself, my confidence has skyrocketed. this group convinced me to do it so i figured id post my success story here!
One thing I’ve been noticing is that I have a veryyyyy weak jawline, so it is obviously not how I was expecting it to look, but it’s just a genetic things. But other than that I’m loving the results so far, hopefully it still goes down even more but I am reallyyyy scared of it coming to how it was since I feel like I’m not taking care of what I eat but I am definitely not eating like how I was doing it before
Any tipssssssssss????
I’m hoping I’ll still be able to see that definition when the bruising and swelling is gone, but so far I am over the moon! I will continue to update thru my revision recovery! 🫶🏻
I was a smidge bit uneven, left side looked good, but right side still had some fat. I don’t see a lot of revision follow up/talk, so hopping to be that person in case others are wondering too!
Top pics are my before and “after/day of revision” (1 week shy of 6 months PO)
Yes, I went to the same doctor.
Yes, it was free of charge.
He went in by the jaw/ear when last time he went in thru the chin.
I was asleep for both procedures.
Full disclosure, I have lost 20lbs on a GLP1 between my two pics. I stayed on this medication thru both my surgeries.
Ask me any questions, but I won’t take my garment off until my 24h appt tomorrow. :)
Im currently 3 weeks post op and I’m not sure if I’m just swollen or this is the final result and I would need a revision? I went with Dr. Zuriel in TJ. Also i think one side is bigger than the other…
I’ve seen others‘ recovery journey and it seemed like most people bruised day 3-10 or so and I’m immediately soooo bruised and swollen. Anyone else? any recommendations to help with the bruising and swelling? I got arnica tablets and will do the messages. Anything else to help?
Hey I have one from my surgery center but looking for one more comfortable or for like everyday but still compressed did u guys get any specific ones from Amazon?
One week out from post op and everything is pretty soft still except right under my chin.
It’s not too hard but a bit spongy maybe.
I recently started trying to massage a week after the surgery.
Am I too late? Will it start hardening (fibrosis?).
When did you start massaging? How often?
Hi everyone, I’m considering chin surgery and would really appreciate some advice from people who have gone through it or have experience with different options, I’m mainly trying to understand what procedures I should discuss with a qualified surgeon and what things I should consider before making any decisions.
I’d appreciate respectful opinions and personal experiences. Thanks!
I’m officially one month post-op from chin lipo with Dr. Zuriel in TJ. My left side still looks noticeably puffier than my right, and from certain angles it almost looks like the lipo wasn’t taken as far back or as evenly on the left side.
Has anyone else experienced this around the one-month mark? Did it eventually even out as the swelling went down, or did you need massages, fibrosis treatment, or a revision to correct it?
I know I’m still early in the healing process, but I’m starting to worry that this might be an actual contouring issue rather than just uneven swelling. I’d especially love to hear from anyone who had a similar result with Dr. Zuriel.
Hi! I plan on getting chin lipo this year. The next available surgery date is in mid September. However, I am going to Thailand at the end of November for two weeks. Do you think I can do the surgery now or should I do it after I come back from the trip? I am mostly concerned about the swelling due to heat.!Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone! Looking for some advice on chin lipo and the logistics/recovery time.
I'm 34 years old, slim and healthy. I have had a bit of a double chin/turkey neck since my teenage years. It's most likely genetics, since my mom has it too, just way worse. I know most people probably wouldn't notice, but I see it in aaall pictures and I know it will only get worse with age. I tried fat freezing some years ago and Belkyra. It did help a bit, but I guess I would have to keep on doing it and it's expensive and so painful.
I'm traveling to Seoul soon and I though about getting a chin lipo since I have seen some amazing results. I'm only there for six days though, and I am traveling with my four year old (and meeting my brother, who could help me for some days).
Will I most likely end up with loose skin from chin lipo alone?
Should I combine it with Platysmaplasty? It would probably not be possible to do since I have six days only?
I have attached pictures of me looking straight and looking slightly down.
EDIT: Reddit filtered this for some reason so reposting:) I added some links and clarified some things in the review. If i should add anything feel free to let me know. I added before and afters of my day 1 results
Hello everyone! I just recently had my chin lipo + facetite procedure with Dr Zuriel in Tijuana. I booked through Natural Body Spa but Body by Plastique and NBS are the same office. Its a little confusing. Anyways heres a run down on my experience and recommendations.
Traveling to the border
I was traveling from OC. I was initially going to take the Amtrak train since i was going with my mother and she didnt want to drive but last minute I decided it was best to drive. It was about an hour and half to the parking structure that was a really close walk to the San Ysidro border. My mom forgot her passport😭so she had to go back and get it which made me a little nervous because I didnt want to be in the surgery room by myself but thankfully everything went well and the clinic team was very helpful and professional. I walked across the border and it was pretty easy to navigate everything. I do NOT recommend booking a taxi. There are gonna be a lot of people trying to get you to ride in their taxi when you exit the border. Just use Uber and i personally suggest tipping well because the fares are pretty low in TJ. My hotel was about 10 minutes from the border and it was $5 for the Uber. I stayed in Hotel Indigo by IHG which was $160 i believe for one night. You could definitely get a more affordable hotel but I wanted to treat myself a little bit and it was close to the border and the clinic.
Procedure
I went to the building provided in the instructions NBS sent. Went I went inside the staff asked me for a QR code so I do recommend asking for the QR code ahead of time because It wasn’t given to me and i waited for like 4-5 min(I was already 5 min late dealing with my mom and checking into my hotel). They eventually just let me in. In my personal opinion I wouldnt book through Natural Body Spa. The communication was a little too casual for me and their response times are kind of all over the place but they are nice. But Dr Zuriel was very nice and professional. His assistant speaks English fluently and explained the entire procedure to me step by step. The entire procedure took about hour. It was pretty uncomfortable honestly but it was mostly painless. The anesthesia was the WORST part. And I do mean the worst. The initial injections pinched and burned pretty badly but it only lasted about 2 seconds. Worst 2 seconds ever though. I would rate the pain a 8/10 and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. The actual lipo was a quite jarring but it wasnt painful. You do feel pressure and you can slightly feel the tube going into your chin and neck which was a very weird experience to say the least. There were moments of a little pain and Zuriel was quick to administer more anesthesia. Its pretty uncomfortable and a little scary but the procedure went by really fast. They covered my chest and the top of my head with a sterile medical blanket and they gave me a breast implant to squeeze on which i thought was a little insane and also pretty hilarious and it did end up pretty useful for the anesthesia parts. The office was really clean. Zuriel and his assistant do have casual conversations while theyre performing the procedure but that part I didnt really mind and it kind of helped ease my nerves a little bit. Overall it wasnt the best hour of my life but it wasnt horrifying even though I did cry😭 but im naturally an emotional person.
Post Care
I did end up having to pay $80 for their faja since the one i brought only covered the chin area and not my neck so if you dont want to pay(they overcharging for the faja in my opinion) make sure you get a faja that covers your neck and chin area. They also added lipo foam. i didnt have to but for convenience I did purchase my meds at the clinic.
Massage
Dr Zuriel recommended i start massages the day after. NBS gives you a list of massage therapists you can book with. I went with Perla since she had an early appointment available. The massage didn’t hurt and Perla was very gentle and professional but it wasn’t a super relaxing experience since you can hear other therapists working and sometimes hear the machines they’re using and they can get a little loud. If you’re sensitive to sound and want more of a relaxing treatment, I would book with someone else and book ahead of time of course. Also Perla only takes cash so keep that in mind if you decide to book with her.
Transport back to the border
My mom came the next day to help me and I was originally going to walk back but i saw videos on how long the lines get and how many hours people have to wait in line ( Ive seen people say they stood in line for 5+ hours😭 im not doing that no shade) and my mom doesn’t have Global Entry but I do. Luckily NBS helped me with transportation back to the US. I recommend organizing the transportation a couple days in advance especially if you book through NBS but they were available to take me the same day I left and it was $130 with the medical pass included which i believe is $70 on its own. If you need a medical pass you have to purchase at the clinic the day you get your surgery and they were able to pick us up at our hotel. It took me and my mom about 25-30 minutes to go from our hotel to across the border with the driver they gave us. The driver was really nice and professional as well. It’s a little pricey but super helpful and convenient because i didn’t want nor did I have to stand in line for hours.
Total cost: $1770 (i forgot to include the massage in my original post.)
Recommendations:
If youre sleeping in a hotel with white sheets or you have white sheets in your bed i suggest getting a black or dark colored towel for the first day. When you come out of the clinic youre kind of dripping 😭 its pretty gross so i would wrap it around your neck or lay it on your pillow so you dont get blood/fluid stains everywhere. Also wear dark clothing to avoid blood stains during surgery.
Eat. Low sodium is recommended especially for the first couple of weeks post procedure. I didnt eat before mainly due to the travel hiccups and i wish i ate before the procedure. Its not hard or painful to eat afterwards but it can be annoying with the faja. They do recommend having a full meal before the surgery and I agree. You do feel a bit lightheaded and tired after.
Purchase a chin faja that covers your neck AND chin. I ordered another one on amazon for $20 and its much better than the $80 faja they gave me. Link in the comments. It fits my big head pretty well and its more comfortable than the $80 faja.
The medications ran me $100. If you able to, there is a couple clinics nearby where you can fill your meds for a lower price. For me i just wanted to get back to my hotel ASAP so i purchased the meds at the clinic but i would look into getting the meds elsewhere if you’re on a budget.
If anyone has any questions or needs information on anything let me know! I added some of my pictures in the comments. Im going to post my results in a couple weeks when the swelling has subsided a little bit.
Well, as much as I hate to admit it, I’m very unhappy. I actually am glad I had this done but it hasn’t worked out the way I hoped. I reached out to my doctor a few times and they just kept telling me to wait. I also paid for FaceTite. Despite massages, I still have banding and can feel the right side has more fat than the left and fear I now need skin removal or a mini face lift and that’s EXPENSIVE. I’m 33.
What are my options?
