Smory's Soundscapes #18 - RESULTS

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blatant act of plagiarism!

I put forward 7 songs that were stolen either outright from other preselections, or songs by artists that were in other people's selections.

Now it's time to reveal which one won. I received 5 votes, thank you to everyone who took part! :)

In 7th place with 12 points, it's >!Honey Boy by Purple Disco Machine, Benjamin Ingrosso feat. Nile Rogers & Shenseea!<

Following in 6th with 16 points, we have >!Yorke - love on the run but I will extend the spoiler to make the placements less obvious!<

With equal points but more 7 points, it's >!Mary Middlefield with her generational banger Summer affair!< in 5th place.

Our literal middle of the road, being 4th out of 7, with 19 points, we have >!Gregory Dillon and frutiger dillon with big chemistry!<

That leaves three to snatch the top spot, two of which were actual preselection songs which I stole:

>!We Got The Moves by Electric Callboy!<, >!Verrate deine Freunde by Provinz!<, and >!Digital Girl by current reigning champion Cherry Bomb!<

Now..... in third, >!Provinz with Verrate deine Freunde!< was able to generate 23 points!

Second place has got a total of 26 points, while first place was slightly ahead with 28 points. But who is who???

Smory's Soundscapes #18 - "Something borrowed"

Hello everyone and welcome to part 2 of my "wedding trilogy". Last week, we had "something old" and "something new" in each of the semis, this week "something borrowed" is the continuation of what will end in week 3 with "something blue".

Something borrowed means that all artists and some of the songs have been in preselections by other users. If a song from a previous preselection is in here, obviously it didn't win cause otherwise it would have gone to SCS.

The songs or artists I stole are:

  5. Provinz - Verrate deine Freunde (u/Moonsea_01 twice with Pazifik and Draußen ist Krieg (which was also in my own preselection once))
  6. Cherry Bomb - Digital Girl (u/sherb139, u/Megarafan2025 and another user whom I can't find for the life of me find anymore)
  7. Electric Callboy - We Got The Moves (u/un-taken-username22)

RECAP

I strongly recommend watching We Got The Moves in full. This song doesn't have any two thirty second snippets that sound the same. It's at the very least very entertaining, whether it's your thing or not.

Fun fact: one of my closest friends was in the same grade as the EC drummer.

Also on another sidenote, I had Cherry Bomb planned since before All-Stars 3, the fact she just won the whole contest is a mere coincidence.

I was going to include avant toi by VITAA and Slimane but saw it had already competed in SCS.

Smory‘s Soundscapes #17 - RESULTS

Hello everyone, my second preselection with semis has come to an end :)

Thank you to everyone who participated throughout the three rounds! The final has concluded with 40 votes cast - reminder, this was a preselection without a vote limit.

We had 7 songs in the final, 3 that made it through the all-stars semi („Something old“), 3 that made it through the Newbies semi („Something new“), and one wildcard (Maya Engen) whom I chose from the eight songs that did not make it.
In the next two weeks, I will complete the wedding trilogy with „Something borrowed“ (artists and/or songs that were in other people‘s preselections but were not chosen for SCS) and „Something blue“ (sad songs).

Thanks for sticking with me until this point, here are the results:

Smory's Soundscapes 17 - Grand Final

Hello everyone and welcome back to Smory's Soundscapes. In both Semi finals, we received two votes each by the same two voters. I am incredibly grateful for receiving those, and I will reveal which three songs qualified to the grand final from semi 2. However, I decided to give a wildcard to my favorite of the eight songs that didn't qualify. For that reason I will reveal the total voting figures in the results post.

After we crossed "Something old" off our list with Semi 1, it's time for all new artists (ones I never sent before) in Semi 2. Before I show you the competitors, it's time to reveal which artists made the final from semi 1 and which ones didn't.

Smory's Soundscapes Wedding - SEMI 1 "Something old, something new"

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

While I was proposed to twice and have been engaged once, I never got married (and for the time being there is no one in my future where it seems likely). However, my best friend is getting married in three weeks, so I thought it only made sense that my preselections reflect that. This week, the first two, old and new, will be covered.

Think of this as a "New vs. old" battle. In 2 Semis, previous artists from my preselections or SCS will battle it out in the semi for 3 spaces in the final, then artists whom I have never sent yet. Then, next week, I will present "borrowed" artists, ones sent by other users. Then, the week after that, I will make a preselection with songs that are "blue"/melancholic/sad.

This week in Semi 1, we have the following "established" artists:

SCS Idol - Grand Final RESULTS

Dear people of this subreddit, you are here to witness the coronation of our first (official) SCS Idol.

Two artists have bested the odds week after week and have made it here to the Grand Final - which is not all that grand in the end because only four voters decided over who should win this round. Either way, they deserve an applause for making it here!

Fun fact, as you can see in the graph, we had a different week-winner for every single week except Week 7 (the final!), where only Solann and PVRIS were left. :)

The seven songs each artist competed with were put up for a vote, and the artist with the overall highest amount of points will walk away as the victor (or in our case, victress).

The distribution of placements of the songs was quite clear, so it doesn't lend for revealing placement after placement in a suspenseful way, so I'll make it short and sweet:

Solann (submitted by u/sherb139) has received a total of 219 points. Can PVRIS (submitted by me) beat that? PVRIS needs at least 220 points or make it a tie at 219, then whoever has the winning song will win.

Thank you to all 15 participants, I had the time of my life hosting this and you can expect a Season 2 soon :) That said, engagement with the contest measurably went down the fewer users were still in the running. If anyone has an idea what I can do to keep it higher towards the end, I would be really appreciative.

Furthermore, I am thinking about introducing mottos for each week in Season 2, feel free to leave suggestions. Users may still submit whatever song they want each week, but I will introduce bonus points for the ones that best fit the week's motto.

SCS Round 7 - GRAND FINAL

SCS Idol Round 6 - SEMI FINAL RESULTS

Hello everyone, as you can see there is no pretty graph with the season results this time. That is because I want to keep a liiiittle semblance of suspense before we start the final. So, I will not reveal which song placed how, and I will also not reveal how the eliminated acts placed in previous weeks.

HOWEVER. We ARE going to find out which two candidates will battle it out in the Grand Final this time.

Neofest #01 - SEMI FINAL 1

Hello everyone, we got a total of 22 Submissions by a total of 13 users for this Fan Contest :) Thanks to everyone who is taking part!

Now 22 is a bit much for a final, so we will hold semi finals. Since 9 users submitted more than one song, I decided to divide these as taking part with one song in each of the two semis, while the four that only submitted one song are divided to only one of the semis.

Smory's Soundscapes #16 - RESULTS

Please excuse the delay, I had an unexpectedly jam-packed day yesterday.

I know Number 1 is already "leaked" because the contest started, but maybe some are still interested in the full results, both based on the official Formula one scoring system and the "raw data" from Strawpoll. Let's see if the scoring system made a difference:

As You can see, the final differences in the placements are fairly minor. HOWEVER! They were actually quite big at some points during the voting process, with YONAKA being projected to win with the Formula One scoring system although being only fourth in Strawpoll at one stage.

As by Inspiration of u/Catto_of_cats (u/Doggo_of_dogs), I think it could be incredibly fun to make a contest of only the most brand-new tracks you currently obsess over :)

Rules

  • Only Songs from the year 2026 are allowed, preferrably May-July 2026.
  • No Eurovision or NF Songs are allowed. Eurovision or NF Artists are allowed as long as the song did not participate in NFs or Eurovision this year.
  • You can nominate up to two artists

I don’t plan on hosting a #02, this is just for fun based on u/Doggo_of_dogs in this comment section, but I thought it would be fun to try once.

SCS Idol Round 6 (Semi-Final) - VOTING

Hello everyone and welcome to our penultimate round! This week, two songs per artist are competing, and the two artists with the two biggest overall points will advance to the Grand Final!! :)

You could give an artist the full 8 points for one song, and then the lowest 1 point for the second if that one is less to your liking. Technically you could also give an artist 8 and 7, the next 6 and 5 and so on, but come on, that would be boring :D

The running order was decided by List Randomizer as always, but I swapped 4th and 5th to make sure each artist has one song in each half. The songs are:

Smory's Soundscapes #16 - Formula One

Hello everyone, welcome to Sheffield, UK, where our previous winner Precious Pepala was born :)

I am not sure if I am the first one to think of this idea, I fainlty remember someone having done it before, but be that as it may, this week's "twist" to my selection is that the Strawpoll points from 10 to 1 will be transformed into the Formula One scoring system of 1-25 and we'll see if this point inflation will change the winner :)
