I am reading all the Agatha Christie’s this year. I’ve been buying used books on ThriftBooks bc it’s just way cheaper and I won’t use Amazon if I can help it.

I ordered Peril at Endhouse recently. It came but not just Peril at Endhouse but as a collection of 5 novels. I have previously read Ten Little Indians and Evil Under the Sun but was rewarded with Murder at Hazlemoor and Easy to Kill; both which are still on my list!

Such a minor win but a nice one anyway! Cheers!

I should say my former LO bc last July I went NC for about 3 months. We reconnected but it wasn’t the same. Then she finally came to visit after months and months and months. The last time she had come was the only time AND I had just moved into my post-divorce house. It’s not decorated with furniture and is a home. She got here, expressed no interest in looking at my home & belongings. We had a few hours one day to hang out and she complained a lot. The next day she wanted to sleep all day on the couch completely blowing off the plans I had for her, my daughter & myself. Then got on the plane the next day and we were DONE.

She has over the last few years messed up a perfectly normal life; 3 of her 5 children won’t have anything to do with her, has had numerous criminal complaints filed against her by her ex and violated misdemeanor probation & is in jail for 60 days. I assume she is although I have fears she may have done herself in rather than turn herself in. I don’t know. I’m afraid to check the court dockets.

I say all this to the point that I am really sad for her. She’s going to lose custody of her kids. She probably will lose her job. She might lose her house. Bc she couldn’t keep her mouth shut. And I’m sad. I don’t want a relationship but I do sort of miss her. What a waste of a lovely human being.

Does anyone know why so many of Agatha Christie books have alternate titles now from the original? Is it a copyright thing or did she change her mind or is it an “UK title versus US title” thing? Anyone?
