I've been cooking in cast iron for years, but I just moved to a place that has a fire pit in the yard and I want to make a pot of beans in my Dutch oven, slung from a tripod.
Have any of you done this? What can I expect for a cook time? I'm making it for a big family meal and don't want to have a key side dish turn into a mess.
I'm no expert on either of the above and won't knock anybody for their opinions on the matter. I also wish I had jumped on the TSP bandwagon when I was a young airman, but here I am almost 30 years later, collecting one pension and working towards another.
My question is this: is one truly better than the other, or are they meant to compliment each other?
I only ask this because I've never really hung on to money. I have a modest emergency reserve, but that's about it. Some crazy life/medical event aside, my plan has been to fully retire with a military pension, GS pension, VA disability, Social Security, and TSP for the cherry on top.
Five passive streams of income that total over six figures, just for waking up in the morning. Am I an idiot for not doing more with my money, or is that theoretically enough to live comfortably?
