Animal feed bags sewn into reuseable bags

A while back someone made a post here (or maybe on one of the frugal or anticonsumption subs) showing some reuseable bags their mom had sewn using animal feed bags. I can't find it now, can someone please link me to it? I just thought they were so neat and wanted to have another look.

Home sweet home

I was travelling last month so I was stuck using disposables for my entire period. It was alright I guess but now that I'm home and it's period time again I'm so glad to be back to my cosy, soothing stash. They're like a warm hug from an old friend, even the ritual of washing them does something for my my soul.

That is all.

Festival advice

I could, at great expense and inconvenience, see my favourite artist at a festival 2-3 hours drive away from where I live. I've never been to a music festival before so I'm wondering if it would be worth the effort. Are the acoustics any good in an open area? Will they be playing a full set?

Favourite artist is headlining, I'm not that interested in the rest of the line-up.

Would you go?

Oats for breakfast

There have been a few posts and comments about oats for breakfast lately. It seems that finding them to be not filling is a common experience, and that to feel full it ends up being a high calorie meal.

That's my experience too, however I find that if I just go for the big serving and boost the protein content with yoghurt and nuts, it's such a sustained energy release that it cuts out all the food noise until dinner time. I'll still have lunch but it's easy to just grab something light and unexciting. I don't find myself thinking about snacks and can easily go without them.

However, if I just have a bit of toast or cereal or something for breakfast I'll be hungry again soon and craving something high calorie and deeply satisfying. Healthy eating often goes to shit at that point. So, all things considered, the high calorie oat breakfast is a good investment in healthy eating for me.

What's your oats for breakfast experience?
