AUS/NZ Portal servers – Night 3 update

Quick update from the last couple of posts about finding populated AUS/NZ Portal servers.

Day 1 – Server Browser issue and how to find populated servers:

Day 2 – Follow-up:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BattlefieldPortal/comments/1vl2ckz/ausnz_portal_isnt_dead_last_night_pretty_much/

THC filled again last night and had a full server running, which was good to see, especially for a Tuesday night.

The other AUS/NZ community servers were pretty quiet, but being a Tuesday that's probably not too surprising.

It's now been three nights since I first posted about populated OCE servers not always showing up when you first open the Server Browser, and the response so far has been really positive.

The next thing I'd like to see is more of the other OCE servers getting going as well.

If THC is full and there's a queue, have a look at TTH, CGL or one of the other OCE servers before heading back to matchmaking. It doesn't take many people joining a server before others start following.

Hopefully we can get to the point where there are a few populated AUS/NZ community servers to choose from each night rather than everyone trying to squeeze into the same one.

If you're looking for a local server:

Portal → Server Browser → Filters

• Region → Oceania
• Free Slots → Any
• Tags → choose what you like, e.g. Hardcore, or leave blank
• Maps & Modes → choose the game mode you want, e.g. Conquest
• Apply filters
• Sort by Player Count

Don't rely on the first Server Browser screen. We've already seen servers with plenty of players not showing there at all.

And again, this isn't about everyone playing on THC. The whole point is getting more people finding and using the AUS/NZ community servers that are already there.

Hopefully we can keep building the OCE Portal community and get more of these servers populated each night.

AUS/NZ Portal isn't dead – last night pretty much proved it

Quick follow-up from my post yesterday about AUS/NZ Portal servers not always showing when you first open the Server Browser.

If you missed that post, it's here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BattlefieldPortal/comments/1vk8n3h/how_to_find_populated_ausnz_servers_in/

It actually seemed to make a difference.

Our THC server started filling much earlier than usual and, like most nights, ended up completely full with a queue of players waiting to get in.

TTH had a good number of players as well. I didn't see it myself at its busiest, but I'd say it probably filled at some point too.

The interesting part was later on.

I got up around 2am and checked the servers again. THC had emptied out by then, but TTH still had 30+ players going.

30+ players on an OCE community server at 2am tells me the players aren't the problem.

People finding each other is.

We've got THC, TTH, CGL and newer OCE clans and community servers starting to appear, which is great to see.

If one server is full and has a queue, jump onto another OCE server and help get that one going. The last thing we need is 10 people waiting to get into one server while another good local server is sitting there waiting for players.

Community servers also give us something matchmaking doesn't:

• Full map rotations without being thrown back through matchmaking every round
• Playing with mates and getting to know the regulars
• Different modes and server setups
• Admin'd servers where griefers, suspected cheaters and people deliberately ruining games can actually be dealt with

And from August 18, with Spectator Mode, Custom Lobbies and the ability to add more admins, community servers should have even better tools to keep the games as fun, clean and fair as possible.

If you're in AUS/NZ and Portal looks dead when you first open it, try this:

Portal → Server Browser → Filters

• Region → Oceania
• Free Slots → Any
• Tags → choose what you like, e.g. Hardcore
• Maps & Modes → choose the game mode you want, e.g. Conquest
• Apply filters
• Sort by Player Count

You don't need to choose Hardcore or Conquest specifically. Pick whatever you actually want to play.

The important thing is using the filters and sorting by player count instead of assuming that first Server Browser screen is showing you everything.

This isn't about which clan or server is the biggest.

It's about getting the AUS/NZ Battlefield community playing together again.

The OCE players are there. We just need to find each other.

How to Find Populated AUS/NZ Servers in Battlefield 6 Portal

If you're in Australia or New Zealand and open the Battlefield 6 Portal Server Browser, don't assume the few servers you see on the first screen are all that's available.

There are active AUS/NZ community servers running, but for some reason they don't always appear in the initial server list — even when they have players on them.

Try this:

  1. Open Portal → Server Browser
  2. Open Filters
  3. Set Region → Oceania
  4. Set Free Slots → Any
  5. Under Tags → select Hardcore
  6. Under Maps & Modes → select Conquest
  7. Apply the filters
  8. Sort by player count

Our server is:

AUS/NZ TRUST HONOUR COURAGE |NO1| HARDCORE CONQUEST

Server Experience Code: ZBTBZ

We're an Australian/NZ Hardcore community and have players on most nights, but our server doesn't always show on the initial browser screen — even when it's populated.

So if the Portal browser looks dead and you're only seeing a handful of empty Australian servers, do a proper Oceania search before giving up. There may be populated local servers that the default browser simply isn't showing you.

If you'd like to join our THC Discord community, just ask in the comments or send me a message and I'll send you an invite. Everyone's welcome. 🇦🇺🇳🇿

Hopefully EA improves the default server discovery system soon and not wait till season 5, because populated local community servers should be much easier to find.

See you on the battlefield.
