Title: Need rod recommendations for Tatula 300 (frogs + Magdrafts + Chad Shads)
I’m building a new setup and have pretty much decided on a Daiwa Tatula 300 with 50-65 lb braid. The problem is I can’t figure out what rod to pair it with.
My main goal is to have one setup that can handle both frogs around cover and larger moving baits.
Baits I plan to throw:
● Hollow body frogs
● 6” Magdrafts
● Sleeper Gills
● SPRO Chad Shad 180
I fish mostly Texas ponds, creeks, lakes, and from a kayak. Frogging is definitely important to me, but I also want to get into swimbaits and glide baits.
The issue I’m running into is that frog rods seem too stiff for Chad Shads, while swimbait rods seem less than ideal for frogs.
Budget is roughly $200-$300 for the rod.
I was originally looking at Megabass Levante rods because I’m a fan of Megabass.
If you could only have one rod for the bait list above, what would you get?
