This bass had been schooling trout, had a gut full of them and still hit the 10” Triple Trout.

finally acquired one . Excited to throw it
This is my first lure, made 15 years ago. It’s rough, simple and very far from what I make today. But I’ve made it. And that is the most important part.
A lot of people message me and show me their lures. And very often they say things like “I know it’s not great” or “I’m just starting” almost like they feel a little embarrassed.
You really don’t have to be.
Nobody starts with perfect paint, great action or clean finishes. The beginning is supposed to look like the beginning.
Your first attempt doesn’t have to be good.
It just has to exist.
I hope seeing my first steps reminds someone that there’s nothing to be ashamed of.
Make the first one. Learn from it. Make the next one better.
That’s how it starts.
What are you guys fishing on these insanely hot summer days when water temps get up to the high 80s and low 90s?
All the last hook seems to do is snag onto the fish and hurt it. From my experience every single hook up has been in the forward most hook. Anyone have any experience doing this? My only worry is it would sink differently
My friend got this calcutta + handle at a flea market for $80. I can’t find any info online about this handle. Was it an SU x Gomexus collab? If anyone has a rough estimate on a price that’d be great
I recently made a video about what it means to catch a big bass on a swimbait. The goal was to be able to show anyone this film and have them understand why we all dedicate so many hours and time to hucking giant baits.
I think if you have ever fished hard this will resonate with you.

I have a steez a 1016 xh with a tatula 300 handle on it as my swimbait reel with an evergreen combat stick 7’8 xh mf rod. I mainly throw 1.5-2.5oz baits. However I have recently bought a kgb legend which is 3.3oz and a DRT K9 which is 4 oz. My question is which reel would be better for the 3-4oz range. I haven’t fished the new lures yet but testing them in my pool seems fine. I’m just worried about prolonged use of the heavier lures and burning out the gears on my steez. Should I keep using the steez or should I switch to the zillion HD. Also open to other recommendations for reels. I may potentially get a new combo in the future for the 4-6oz range and would like recommendations for reels for that combo as well. Thanks in advance!
Split between the Alijoz 300 and the Megatron 200. Only plan on throwing 1-4oz, but my thinking is the 300 has more room if I do decide to throw bigger. So which should I get for my target weight? Dont want to go over $120
My only 2 glidebaits (both handmade)
I have a Savage Gear Browser Heavy swimbait rod paired with a Curado 200 size reel. Never actually fished with swimbaits. Should I upgrade the reel to a 300?
Going fishing on Lake Winnebago for the Fourth of July, new to crawfish and Texas rigging in general. Was just looking for a little guidance is the area. Just bought a could Rebel Wee Crawfish and was considering getting some YUM Craw Chunk or Christie Craw. Also any small paddle tail suggestion would be appreciated as well.
What do you recommend for a dehooker, especially for gut hooked bass, usually with worm hooks? The ad for the Classic Dehooker looks good, but I wonder what works best for you? Do you cut the hook off and release fish, use wire cutters to clip most of the hook off before releasing the fish, or use a dehooker? If so, what kind of dehooker is more gentle to the fish?
I’ve been wanting to throw my big soft plastics like the 5.8 bellows gill but my swimbait rod is the only rod that can handle it. Am I still able to throw single hook baits on a mod fast rod?
I’m building a new setup and have pretty much decided on a Daiwa Tatula 300 with 50-65 lb braid. The problem is I can’t figure out what rod to pair it with.
My main goal is to have one setup that can handle both frogs around cover and larger moving baits.
Baits I plan to throw:
● Hollow body frogs
● 6” Magdrafts
● Sleeper Gills
● SPRO Chad Shad 180
I fish mostly Texas ponds, creeks, lakes, and from a kayak. Frogging is definitely important to me, but I also want to get into swimbaits and glide baits.
The issue I’m running into is that frog rods seem too stiff for Chad Shads, while swimbait rods seem less than ideal for frogs.
Budget is roughly $200-$300 for the rod.
I was originally looking at Megabass Levante rods because I’m a fan of Megabass.
If you could only have one rod for the bait list above, what would you get?
Update: thanks for the suggestions guys and helping me out, have officially decided on tatula 300 and the Megabass Orochi destruction 66
The color in person is insanely good camera doesn't do it justice.
