If anyone thought the reprint was going to save Kinato...

For those who don't know, it's already the 3rd in Japan, the release day for the big Jump volumes and the scheduled date for the Kinato reprints to hit stores.

For those who still held out hope for a possible miracle: I’m here to show that, even after searching online, I didn't see a single volume on the shelves—plus, none of the major retailers even mentioned the title.

AH is getting similar treatment; even though it's being cancelled, the cancelled titles from the previous batch at least appeared alongside the other volumes.

Even Shonen Jump itself didn't bother to post a tweet commemorating it.

Wrapping up the third week, it’s a huge victory for Kinato which fought bravely and a major surprise for Under Doctor, which will likely rank above Nue in the weekly standings

Even though it’s a somewhat slower month for new releases, this is a significant achievement series like kiyoshi and himaten sometimes don't even make it to a third week and I believe that, along with Shinobi, they didn't reach that point with their first volumes

Well... I think it's over for Kinato. After growing a lot for two consecutive days after the stock arrived, it seems his stay in the top 500 is finally coming to an end. Whether it's because the stock ran out again or because the public lost interest, It doesn't matter, The 12k dream is over, 9-10k is still possible.

On the other hand, Under Doctor is flying high; honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it sold 20k copies, but the higher the sales, the harder it will be to maintain it at volume 2 without help from resellers.

Kinato is not a failure and urgently needs a reprint.

Kinato didn't sell 5k copies in 4 days (good number for the last one in the TOC without a color page) because that was all it could do, but because that was all it was allowed to do.

Kinato was mostly sold out on the first day. Some people are skeptical that volume 1 of Kinato sold out on the first day, but there were countless posts talking about its scarcity.

Not to mention that it's out of stock in most famous bookstores, especially Animate, which I believe is the largest.

Don't be alarmed by the following sales figures; it's obvious that it's out of stock. Note that Animate (3rd picture), the largest manga store with 50,000 followers on X, couldn't get enough copies to fill its shelves. I think it's ironic to ask for a reprint of Kinato.

Is Kinato dead?

To answer the question directly, not yet, but it's a complicated situation. Volume 1 is sold out in several physical stores, and the main online stores are out of stock, so don't be alarmed by Shoseki's drop in stock; there will probably be a reprint soon. This isn't a guarantee of survival, but it might prevent cancellation for a while.

If you search for "キナト" on Twitter, you'll see that most of the comments say they don't understand the series' stance because it's so much fun.

And lastly, the series didn't get a color illustration, but it did get a summary to promote the volume. It's not as good as a color illustration, but it shows that the magazine hasn't given up on the series completely, because it's not that common for a series to get one of those, especially one at risk of cancellation.
