🚨 SCAM WARNING: "Virtual Personal Assistant" email hitting student inboxes
Hey everyone, a classic phishing trap just hit my student inbox.
If you get an email from Manuel Alvarenga offering a Virtual Personal Assistant job for a Dr. Philip Hong... DO NOT REPLY.
• The Bait: $600/week for 1 hour of work a day, tuition reimbursement, and a free laptop.
• The Red Flag: They want you to send your resume/info to a sketchy external Gmail address (kidshappyheartt@gmail.com).
• The Trap: It's a fake-check scam. They send you a fake digital check to "buy equipment," make you send real money to their "supplier," and then the check bounces days later, wiping out your bank account.
Don't open the attachment, don't reply, and forward it straight to ITS so they can block the sender domain network-wide. Stay safe! 🛑💸
