Apex Market, A dark terminal trading sim about corporate exploitation
Hey everyone!
I don't have a background in coding, but on the side I've been working on an idea for a cynical, fast-paced corporate market sim. I ended up vibe-coding the entire project using Claude to handle the JavaScript and HTML5 under the hood, and it just went live on Itch!
It's called Apex Market.
The core loop:
- Trade volatile markets: Flip commodities across 4 categories (Tech, Minerals, Relics, and Bio-Waste) while managing hourly storage rent, over-capacity surcharges, and market fluctuations.
- Automate your portfolio: As your clearance level increases, hire automated desks like Night-Shift Fences (auto-sells to top bids), Dumpster Divers (snipes cheap listings), and Incinerator Crews (auto-burns commons for XP).
- Progression: Burn inventory for XP to level up, unlock better Vault crates, upgrade terminal plans for lower market fees, and climb simulated rival leaderboards.
- 100% Free & Web-First: No microtransactions, no real ads, and no donation popups. Runs directly in your browser with local saves + backup export codes.
Since I guided this whole project through prompts as a non-coder, I'd really love feedback on how the early-game balance and desk automation pacing feel!

AI disclosure: Game concept, design, and systems by me; vibe-coded using Claude for code and text generation. Runs 100% locally in-browser via standard HTML5/JS.
