Agnew Meadows to Thousand Island Lake Loop

Incredible trail - roughly 19 miles, started from High Trail at Agnew Meadows on Saturday (6/27), stayed the night at Thousand Island lake, back through JMT on Sunday. Temps went down to slightly below freeze at night but not too cold, just perfect weather and scenery. Mosquitos are out but not too bad at all, we used the head-net around the lake but it was not crazy. If you're heading there make sure to research the shuttle and road conditions though. We decided to drive early morning, arrived at the entrance gate by 6:20am (about 10 cars ahead of us), but the gate opened at about 8:15am, and the shuttles were also quite packed, even the first one at 7am had no room left.

Current conditions Thousand Island lake and Kearsarge

Planning a backpacking trip for next week (6/27 to 7/2), one night going from Agnew Meadows to Thousand Island lake via PCT and back by the River trail, and then two nights going from Onion Valley trailhead to Kearsarge lake. Anyone has done these recently? I’m curious about the current conditions especially mosquito situation and river crossings.

Has anyone been to the California Inyo National Forest - Agnew Meadows to Thousand Island lake recently? We are planning to go on June 6 to 8, wanted to see if anyone knows the current conditions, bus ride, snow and river crossings. Thanks in advance.

First time backpackong to LYV and rain/snow conditions

This is the first time we are backpacking in Yosemite. The plan was to reach the valley on Wednesday night, stay in the backpackers camp ground for the night, hike up the Happy Isles to LYV on Thursday morning, Friday do the Half Dome, Saturday go to the Clouds Rest, and Sunday head back. With the rain and snow predictions we were thinking of switching the Friday and Saturday plans, or skip Half Dome altogether. We have rain gear but never experienced Yosemite storms before, and cold night. Do we need to make any changes to the plans? I don’t think we have river crossings (except for one on Clouds Rest?) but should we be worried about that?
