So, my ex put a restraining order on me. It was granted, and two months later, she contacted my family, apologizing and saying she was going to get it canceled. She went to court to cancel it, but her request was denied. Does she keep trying to cancel it, or can she appeal the decision to have it modified or terminated?
I have not talked to her, but she has talked to my family. I’ve honestly moved on, but I was surprised that she did this after everything. She really screwed me over when I was nothing but good to her. I guess she came to her senses.
My question is, how does she go about canceling the restraining order? I work in the military and had to give up my guns, and I’d like to be able to get them back ASAP.

Last year, I contracted herpes while I was only having sex with my ex-girlfriend. When I first asked her about it, she said she didn’t know anything about it. We got medication, and I tried to move on.
Fast forward to about a month after Valentine’s Day, I found out she had been cheating on me. I read her journal, and it stated that her coworker gave her herpes and that she then gave it to me. I was devastated and experienced severe anxiety after learning this.
I told both my family and her family, including her mother and sister, about what I had discovered. I also contacted her workplace to confirm whether the coworker mentioned in the journal worked there. I spoke with her boss, who confirmed that the coworker did work there.
We were renting a house together, so I could not simply ask her to leave. We continued living together while I waited for the lease to end. Two months later, after a Memorial Day weekend vacation, her mother stayed at our house for two nights and seemed completely comfortable being there.
About a week later, my ex deleted information from my phone, moved out, and then filed for a restraining order against me. In the restraining order, she claimed that I tried to kill her, hurt her, and prevented her from seeing her friends and family. Those accusations are completely false.
When I discovered what was written in her journal, I immediately sent copies of the evidence to my family members. Now I have a restraining order hearing next week, and I feel like she is trying to ruin my life. I have never been in trouble with the law before, and I do not have any criminal record. This is the first time I have ever had to deal with anything like this, and I am very concerned about the impact it could have on my future.

Also the restraining order only mentions the day I freaked out about finding out and reading that she gave me herpes. cause I was never abusive in the relationship never had a fight. We had a argument, but couples have arguments never been domestic or anything. I asked her to move out the moment I found out she decided to stay why if you’re so scared.

Please help me. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to ruin my future because she’s lying on me even though I exposed it to her family friends and job. I don’t think I should get a restraining order on me and lose my rights.
