ArteNom Seleccion 1146 Añejo.

While in jalisco last may, i ended up trying all the goodies at the hotel bar. i went on a hunt and grab some añejos. Today i opened this and absolutely love the profile on this exceptional blend coming out of the Tequileña distillery. The Cabernet influence is apparent, this añejo is quite fruity. I found plum, apple, grape, honey, and dark chocolate. In addition to the wine barrel aging, white American oak is added to the blend which brought out flavors of vanilla, caramel & a hint of nuttiness. The finish was a bit tannic & drying, but lasted for quite some time. As much as I like this delicious wood driven añejo.

Amatiteña Blanco

Nose: Pungent, rustic aromas of smoky mesquite, roasted agave, wet cement, and a slightly herbal, citrusy kick of lemon zest.

Palate: A creamy, oily mouthfeel that coats the palate. It delivers a unique, earthy combination of sweet agave, minerality, black pepper, and faint notes of mint, brine, and green olives.

Finish: A warming, lingering finish heavily defined by sweet smoked agave, pepper, and a touch of tobacco.

This reminds me of a mezcal.

Cheers to a good weekend.
