Philosophy question. If you removed your significant other and your children and work. How long would it take for someone to know? Days later when you don’t respond to texts, weeks, or months later when you don’t show up to a specific function like a wedding?

Currently unemployed and was offered a job which would be three steps back from what I was doing. Offer expires 48 hours. I have an interview for a position and company id rather work at. Pay would be in line with what I was making the morning after the offer expires. What should I do? I assume it’s ok to sign the current offer and back out if all things go well with the other place? Any ideas on how to delay said offer to at least get thru that next interview?
