Hey everyone, I'm a first year Computer Science student, and I just got my mark back for Calc II... and I failed. This isn't a consolation post, I recognize it was completely my fault.

I'm just wondering what my next steps might be from anyone who's gone through a similar experience. I'm currently taking an elective this summer, so one of my questions is whether I should retake Calc II alongside it this summer, or use the extra elective space I have now to retake it during the regular school year instead.

From what I can tell, CS students at Mac have direct entry into Level 2, so there's no stream selection or GPA cutoff like Engineering. I also checked, and none of my second year CS courses require Calc II as a prerequisite, so I don't think I'm immediately blocked from anything.

That said, I'm not 100% sure how a failed required course affects my standing as a CS student specifically, which is part of why I've already emailed my academic advisor. I just also wanted to hear from fellow students and anyone who's been in a similar situation. Thanks in advance!
