Repeated Wildfire Emergency Alert causing EE SIM to lose signal completely?
Wondering if anyone else had this happen with the wildfire emergency alert yesterday evening?
I landed back in the UK last night and as soon as I walked into the airport I got the alert message. But then as I was getting the train back up to Peterborough, the alert kept going off over and over again probably another 10+ times along the journey.
Every time it happened my EE signal would completely drop out for 5 to 10 minutes. Once I finally got to Peterborough and stopped moving, my EE SIM lost signal entirely and went to "No Service" for over 30 minutes straight 3 times in a row.
I have a dual SIM setup in my phone with an Australian SIM roaming on O2, and that stayed connected to O2 fine the whole afternoon, so it don’t believe it was my hardware. It seems like the constant alerts totally knocked out my EE network connection.
Whilst I appreciate the emergency system and it’s purpose it seems redundant if it inadvertently renders my device unusable during an actual emergency
