This game is a masterpiece

Hey everyone, Just finished the game. I never write reviews or publicly praise cultural content, but I wanted to be vocal about the love and care I could feel IO Interactive as has put into the game. Here are the strongest points of the game, in my opinion :

  • Exceptional writing: the dialogues, punchlines and overall vocals in this game are S-tier level. I can only think of Rockstar games and RDR2 that offered such a depth of characters and quality dialogues. The story was captivating.
  • James Bond: great angle on his youth, superb acting from however voiced him. I'd love to see a movie based-off or following this game. And I really felt like playing a game made from the fans to the fans.
  • Level-design: some levels were incredible to explore. I particularly enjoyed Slovakia, Vietnam and, was it Senegal? The creativity and uniqueness of those places, I felt like traveling from my sofa.
  • Graphics and sound-design hugely improved the game.
  • Fun gun fight, I loved that the ammo is limited so you have to think creatively and aren't encourage to just rush through.

The game isn't perfect neither:

  • The indoors missions felt sometime a bit repetitive and fell a bit flat, especially the one in the Webb buildings - mostly the high-tower one.
  • For an origin story, I would have loved to learn a bit more about James Bond's history, why he is how he is. But when making a game with a character of such magnitude, I imagine the studio had to be quite conversative.

In short, I just wanted to thank IO ineractive for giving me such a solid entertainment. I will be speaking highly of this game for years to come, and this one ranks in my best video game experiences ever alongside RDR2, Skyrim and The Witcher 3.
And by the way, I loved having a narrow-path to follow. Please don't succomb to open worlds, I enjoy much more a tunnel-game well crafted than an open world. As a grown up with responsabilities; I don't want to make 100 decisions of where to go when relaxing in front of game.

Much love.
