I made friends with a streamer. Let's call her Z. When Z and I met, I felt very comfortable and safe around her. I would open the mic and talk to her about all kinds of things. We got along quite well. We weren't especially close, but we did enjoy each other's company.
Before I begin, I want to say that I have several streamer friends who always let me know when they are live. I've never experienced someone recording me without my consent or knowledge before due to this. I thought it was common sense not to record others without their knowledge or consent- especially for streamers- since in a majority of US states it's illegal right? I did talk to her about private things including even where I was located and I think she did post that online as well...
The situation: Z and I were playing a game together when I got a notification on my phone that she was live. I panicked and muted myself then asked her how long she had been live for. Z told me she had been live for the entire time we had been playing together. I didn't know what to say, so I stopped typing. She noticed this and said "I'm sorry I guess" and left the party. I told her gently that I don't like the idea of being recorded without my consent and I would prefer for her to let me know next time. I also asked her if this was a first time offense or if she had done this multiple times. She admitted that this wasn't the first time that she had recorded me and uploaded the content without my knowledge or consent. When I asked her how many times she believes this happened, she said more than 10. The total number came to more than 25 times. And unfortunately, these videos garnered thousands of views.
To make matters even worse, Z's fans began to drag me like a dog in the comments because she kept streaming our disagreement as I told her my boundaries. I got blamed by her fan worshippers for "betraying her" by not telling her that I didn't want to be recorded without my consent.
More about me: I'm deathly shy; the thought of random people I don't know hearing my voice gives me nausea. I understand some people are not as shy as I am so something ike this isn't really a big deal for them, but it is for me. Also, I have another reason as to why I don't want to appear on people's streams. This actually happened to me once before. The streamer's commenters began to say very disgusting and sexual things about my voice... Ever since then, I don't like people to hear my voice because I don't want a repeat of what happened before
Any advice on what I should do going forward?
