Frustrated with Eero

Hello. I recently switched to frontier fiber and it came with an eero 7 pro. We have a large home with lots of devices so I bought a two pack of Eero 7s to go with the main unit. Things were great for a few days until the 5ghz decided it wanted to use DFS channels exclusively and a wide 240mhz worth of it. Well a lot of my 5ghz devices stopped connecting and were forced to the much slower and crowded 2.4ghz.

I was able to reset the back and get it to re select a different channel and it worked for about another week. Then it did it again. So I called Eero and the only solution was to turn on a “compatibility” mode from their end which would restrict my 5ghz band. Well my devices are connecting again but now I’ve lost “band/client” steering and a lot of my devices are not connecting to the closest point and now it’s causing more issues because devices are now super sticky to the point they originally connect to.

Any advice would be appreciated I honestly feel like I just wasted $240 on devices that aren’t quite what I was expecting. I wish Eero support could lock in my 5ghz channel without taking away other modern features just as “client:band” steering.

I may have to call them and have them turn it off and just figure out a way to start hardwiring some of these 5ghz devices (Rokus/gaming systems). Super disappointed. I was impressed with the performance of the routers but the customization/support is severely lacking.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
