Titanium Exhaust Unreliable?
I’m looking to buy a used ZX4RR, and the one I’m eyeing has a full titanium exhaust from Graves. I’ve read and heard that titanium is a poor exhaust material due to something about how the material handles repeated thermal expansion. Is this something I should be concerned about? More specifically…
Is it likely that I’ll need to replace the full exhaust in the bike’s lifetime (compared to stainless/stock)?
Should it fail on the road, would it be dangerous in any way?
Should it fail in general, do I risk damaging other vital and/or expensive parts of the bike?
I plan to commute with it, take joy rides as one does, and also do a few track days in the future. Any advice is appreciated!
