What's the good side of having Rakuten Bank, additionally to Yuuchou?

Hello folks..

Like the title, I already have Yuuchou account as my main bank account.
I usually buy stocks from Rakuten Sec, and to transfer the fund I use the Yuchou Direct via browser without any fee.

Lately, Rakuten Bank offers some point for opening an account there.
I was wondering what is the good side of it, since I already have Yuuchou as my main account.
I don't want. to open an account, transferring some funds but ending to not using it at all, and they only taking the monthly fee from the account.

Thank you!

Tax Exemption for Remittances to a Dependant Parent

Hello everyone,

It has been two months since I started living in Japan, and I have also been looking into tax exemptions.

For background, I am from Southeast Asia. My wife is currently working in my home country and is planning to join me in Japan for work this October, if everything goes well. We are a family of three.

Initially, I did not consider applying for tax exemption because my wife is currently employed in my home country and will also be moving to Japan for work. In addition, I work as a haken employee in Kyushu, and submitting documents to my company in Tokyo is somewhat inconvenient. My annual income is about 5 million JPY, and my wife’s is about 3 million JPY (if she works later in Japan).

However, a Japanese coworker recently encouraged me to apply for tax exemption after learning that I will regularly send money to my family in my home country. I have two dependents: my father and my younger sister. My father receives a monthly pension of about 32,000 JPY, and my sister is currently in her first year of college (she will be in her 2nd this September).

I have a few questions:

  1. Last month, I sent about 150,000 JPY to my personal bank account in my home country—100,000 JPY for family support and 50,000 JPY for savings. The reason I do not send money directly to my father is because I want to manage how the money is used, as I am concerned it may be spent all at once. I understand that for tax exemption purposes, the money should be sent directly to the dependent’s account. In this case, would it be acceptable if I send the money to my sister’s account instead?
  2. I use 3rd party service, as it is cheaper compared to bank such as Japan Post Bank (Yucho) for transfer. Is this method acceptable for documentation purposes?
  3. Would printed electronic transaction statements be acceptable, or is an official bank-issued receipt required?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
