Deep sleep and misleading sleep score
I’d love to see an option in Bevel to exclude Deep Sleep from the Sleep Score calculation, if the user chooses to.
For example, last night I had an exceptional recovery score, with very high HRV and a very low resting heart rate. But my Sleep Score wasn’t that great because my Apple Watch Ultra 3 only recorded 27 minutes of Deep Sleep.
I’m 36, and it’s pretty well known that Apple’s sleep stage algorithm can be inaccurate, especially for Deep Sleep. So it would be really useful to have the option to ignore Deep Sleep as a metric and let the Sleep Score rely more on the other available sleep data.
I asked AI, and she said that only 27 minutes of Deep Sleep was considered insufficient for a better Sleep Score. That makes sense if the data is accurate, but in this case I’m not sure the Apple Watch estimate is reliable enough to penalize the whole score.
Would love to see this added as an optional setting.
