I was coming back from Florida all the way to North Carolina and I hit a tow truck chain that was in the middle of the interstate. This is what happened to my brand new Perelli AS3 tires and my rim. I just got this car three weeks ago and I just put new tires on it last week.
I will say using BMW assist was excellent. They had somebody out there within 45 minutes which I thought was good for the Jacksonville area. They towed it all the way to the BMW dealership in Jacksonville and I didn’t have to pay anything. The only sad part is, I had to buy a brand new rim and tire and have it installed which by the way is a day late. I’m currently stranded until tomorrow, but there’s always worse things to complain about than being stuck at the beach for an extra day.
I do want to give Tom Bush BMW of Jacksonville a shout out for being so nice and accommodating us on the last minute emergency. They got us a loaner and gave my daughter a free BMW teddy bear.
Hi all
I plan on driving from Chapel Hill to Orlando. I certainly have range anxiety and could use ANY helpful tips to not make this as stressful as I am already fearing haha.
Thank you!
2025 i5 with 13k miles.
My dream car (well, dream car is really M5 but this is a super close 2nd. Maybe even a 1a and 1b type of thing. I didn't like the tires so I put Pirelli AS 3 on it and a 20% tint all around.
This is the second time this has happened since I got my i5. This is the same charger I used for the i4.
Never happened on the i4
What's making it hot? The car or the wiring?i charge at 32A
I love this look, but I would like some advice before I purchase this on the level of difficulty on install. It looks like just one/two wires, but where do they go?
I had an i4 for a few months and charged it at 48amp. I've had my i5 for a few days, and I charged it at 48amp as well, and today it seemed that the charger got too hot and shut down with a fault.
I have a BMW L2 charger, but I presume we aren't supposed to charge at 48amps? I guess even though it can charge at 48, probably the best bet is to charge at 32?
What are your thoughts?
Hi there!
I am putting on Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 on Wednesday.
My assumption is that it will be a smooth ride and I shouldn’t lose any range on these. I understand also that they will need replaced a little sooner than others but that’s ok.
I think it’s either lose range or replace early. I chose replace earlier.
Has anyone of you used these or what did you put on to be satisfied?
I've seen where owners have had to replace their tires under 10k miles (I presume since it is so heavy compared to regular 5 series).
Is this true and what was your mileage, if you have purchased new.
Hi BMW family,
I bought a 2023 BMW I4 edrive35 with 20k miles in March and I love the car! After a few months (again, its not totally a big deal, but could be at some point), the leg room for my 9 year old could get cramped on a long drive (I say that but at 100%, I only get 220 miles). She has to sit behind me becuase my wife *needs* more room to sit back.
With that being said, Carvana wants to pay me $1,000 more than I paid (and I was able to drive it 3k miles in the interim), while allowing me to upgrade to a 2025, I5 edrive40. It would be roughly $130 more per month (not sweating this part), but the 2025 has 12k miles on it, and looks to be new tires from BMW back in Oct last year (not sure why new tires were put on it, but nonetheless, is a good thing).
Would you all do this? (Again, I realize Carvana isn't the best place to buy cars, but this isn't a toyota corolla, or a chevy malibu either, so most people treat these cars a little better regardless who you are).
I know I can walk away when i get there if something is not totally right on it. It's 46k price tag. I can't discount carvana since it's not a dealership with the bells and whistles, BUT, I have been royally screwed by dealerships in my lifetime so i am calling it even-stevens at this point.
