Looking for dog house advice!

Looking for dog house advice!

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some recommendations/advice on how I should build a dog house for Yuji.

Just to clarify, he will NOT be living outside or staying outside all the time! He’s an indoor dog, but this goofy guy absolutely LOVES being outside, especially when it’s raining. He’ll literally sit under a tree and just watch the rain. He does the exact same thing when it snows, so I figured I’d build him a little outdoor house where he can hang out when he wants to be outside.

He honestly acts more like a husky than anything sometimes.

I was thinking about using a design similar to the house in the picture, but making it longer and wider since he’s a Doberman. I’d also like to raise it off the ground to help with snow, rain, and moisture.

My plan is to properly insulate the walls, roof, and floor, and use asphalt shingles for the roof. I’m also considering adding some type of heating for colder weather.

Would a heat lamp or heated blanket/pad be too much? Is one safer/better than the other for an outdoor dog house? Or would it make more sense to buy a small shed and convert/insulate it into a dog house?

I’m in Colorado, so I’m especially thinking about snow and freezing temperatures.

I’d really appreciate any advice, recommendations, or things I should avoid when building it! Thank youuu!

Idk dog food bag label

So I’m feeding my doggie the purina pro plan sensitive stomach, a the label says 2-3 cups based on his weight (60 pounds, year old) But I just feel like that’s not enough (I’m assuming the label means 3 cups for the entire day), I’m feeding him 2 and a half cups per meal. I don’t want to over or under feed him, and all he eats in a day is his kibble and a dental treat (he’s tummy’s too sensitive so I’m scared to try out other treats)

Can I give him nap time?

Hello! So I started taking my Doberman to daycare since I work long shifts (and the kind where you can’t leave till the work is done) and I feel horrible leaving him in his kennel. So he goes to daycare from 6:30am-3:30ish almost 4pm.
He gets a little crazy when we get back home and he can’t really stay still, so my question is
Can I put him in his kennel for a nap? Like nap from 3:30-5:30 pm, eat at 6pm, walk at 8pm, bedtime by 10pm? Or is day care a bad idea (the day care i take him too has the ratio of 1:5)

Doberman insanity

So it’s my first time having a Doberman (adopted) and I’ve raised dogs before, a husky and a border collie (my sister moved out and took em) and wow the experience is so different and I have lots of questions, Google helped but I’d like to hear personal experiences.

Walks literally consist of walking and then stopping to stare, that scares me because buddy 😭 nothing is there. Am I doing our walks wrong? I’m not sure if there is a wrong way?

My man poops- like a lot. And it’s super watery and I can’t find his right diet, do I go grain free?

He also poops in his kennel in the mornings. He does really good when I leave for work and I think his kennel is the right size (stand and turn). I’m feeding him at 6pm, bedtime is around 9 or 10pm. I feel like that’s enough?

Aside from pooping he stinks 😭 I’m so sorry but he does. He has gone to the groomers but obviously I’m not bathing him every day. How do I fix that?

He also had dandruff I’m not sure if it’s whatever the groomers used or his food that’s causing that.

Anyways thank you for reading and hopefully answering these questions because this boy has me stressed 💀😭

How much do you feed?

Hello! My little friend here weighs 60, and the vet said follow the food bag. Bag says 4 cups for purina pro plan and it feels like a lot of food. But I also don’t want to under feed him.
