Hi, I joined GM as part of their MediaOne organization last year towards Sept/Oct. When we were told to come up with goals, we need to based on the ones we can attain and GM will ask for exact proof according to how you met them. Our CMO and her director report/team lead told us that as long as you get “meets expectations” that’s considered safe. So if everyone meets their goals they set, then wouldn’t you get “meets expectations”. Isn’t there a thing at Gm with their new evaluation process that someone has to be lower on the bell curve even if they still “meets expectations” hence the more hunger games kind of environment?

I’m confused. If you still meet your goals, could you still not get “meets expectations”?
