The latest Social Poker update is live!

This one is mostly focused on polishing the overall experience: UI improvements, clearer explanations for different features, more confirmation screens, text fixes, and continued improvements to game stability, along with a few gameplay changes.

🛠️ Devs are deving

We’re always reading your feedback and looking for ways to make the game easier to understand, smoother to navigate, and better to play. A lot of this update is about those smaller improvements that add up over time.

✨ UI & NAVIGATION

  • The old messages icon is now the Rewards Inbox 🎁
  • League Rank, Leaderboards, and Rewards Inbox are now grouped together
  • Friends has moved into your Profile

📚 CLEARER LEAGUES

New ? help buttons have been added to Leagues and League Rooms, with explanations for:

  • League Overview
  • League Rooms
  • Shootouts

💎 GEMS & REWARDS

  • Rank Protection now has a confirmation screen before Gems are spent
  • All players are receiving a 500 Gem Starter Pack
  • If you were active in League Rooms or Shootouts before August 12, you may find a one-time 115 Gems compensation waiting in your Rewards Inbox.

Check your Rewards Inbox to claim them.

🎯 SHOOTOUT CHANGE

Absent players can now be eliminated.

If an absent player misses their blind, they’ll be removed from the Shootout. This should help keep matches moving and make the format fairer for players who stay active.

🐛 STABILITY & POLISH

We’ve also continued improving game stability and fixed a number of smaller UI and text issues.

There are bigger things we want to bring to Social Poker, but first we want to make sure the current experience is as solid as possible.

Thanks for all the feedback, bug reports, and support. ❤️

[ROADMAP] Multi-Table Tournaments are on the way 🏆

As players keep building bigger stacks and climbing the ranks, we’ve been thinking about the next big step: giving players a new way to compete and put their progress to the test.

Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs) are on our roadmap.

We’re not ready to reveal the full format or all the details just yet, but this is a direction we’re actively working toward.

Before we get there, we’re focused on making sure the table is ready. ♠️

🌐 Crossplay for League Rooms
We’re working on bringing crossplay to League Rooms, which means a bigger player pool, more active tables, and more people competing together.

🐛 Stability & bug fixes
We’re keeping a close eye on the issues being reported and working through them as we go. We want the game to be in the best shape possible before we start dealing something this big.

🏆 More ways to compete
MTTs are another step toward giving players more ways to compete, progress, and test themselves at the table.

And for those who just want to sit down and play some poker, **the casual side of Social Poker isn’t going anywhere.**The game will remain free to play, and casual tables will continue to be a big part of it.

It’s been a really fun week for us, with a lot of updates, a lot of new players, and a ton of useful feedback coming in. Thanks to everyone who’s been playing, reporting bugs, and telling us what you think.

More hands to come. ♠️

🏆 Shootouts are back!

Shootouts are back! 🎉

We’ve made some improvements to stability and are bringing them back online. Thanks everyone for your patience while we worked on it.

We’re always working on improving the game and adding more ways to play. We’re excited about what’s coming next, including new competitive features and more ways for players to compete for awesome rewards. ♠️

As always, if you notice anything unusual while playing, let us know. Your feedback helps us keep making Social Poker better!

🎉 Crossplay is live in Casual Tables!

Reddit and SocialPoker.gg players can now play together in the same Casual Tables.

This is a pretty big one for us because it brings both versions of Social Poker closer together. If you prefer playing directly on Reddit, stay on Reddit. If you prefer playing on SocialPoker.gg, play there.

You’re still sitting at the same tables, playing against the same people. 🃏

So wherever you choose to play, the Casual Tables are now one shared pool.

Jump in and see who you run into 👀

[KNOWN ISSUE] We’re working on the Shootout problems

Hey everyone, we’ve seen reports of players being incorrectly shown as Sitting Out, being unable to use their action buttons, and Shootout timers reaching zero without the game starting.

The team is aware of these issues and is working on a fix. We’ll get it out as soon as possible and update you once it’s live.

Thanks for the reports and your patience! 💚

Edit: We’ve temporarily disabled Shootouts while we work on the fix. We’ll bring them back as soon as it’s ready.

[UPDATE] No More Bots, Richest Leaderboard & More!

Hey everyone! We’ve got a big Social Poker update for you 🎉

This one is all about making the game feel more social, more reliable, and more rewarding to play. We’re removing automatic bots, updating Shootouts, introducing a new leaderboard, and rolling out several fixes based on your reports.

What’s New

  • No more bots: Cash tables and Shootouts will no longer automatically fill with bots. Regular cash tables can start with 2 players. Shootouts start with at least 3 players, followed by a 2-minute countdown.
  • Updated Shootout rewards: The top 3 players can now earn chips and League Points, with rewards based on the Shootout buy-in.
  • Richest Leaderboard: You can now see who’s holding the most chips. Expect to spot some familiar community names near the top 👀

Fixes and Improvements

  • Improved stability: We’ve made several adjustments to reduce table freezes, connection issues, and problems when rejoining a game.
  • Quest tracking: Fixed several hand types not counting correctly toward quest progress.
  • Premium items: Fixed an issue where previously owned premium reactions and card guards could disappear after being unequipped or rearranged.
  • Leaderboard avatars: Reddit snoovatars that previously didn’t appear on the leaderboard should now display correctly.

A huge thank you for all the feedback, and welcome to everyone who’s recently joined us! We’re always working to make Social Poker better, and we’ve already started noting several of the suggestions you shared over the past week.

If there’s something you’d love to see in the game, let us know. We’re listening!

Thanks for being here, and we’ll see you at the tables! 🃏

[FAQ] Leagues: Promotions, Weekly Settlements & Bots

Hey everyone! We’ve seen all the posts and questions about Leagues since the update went live, so we thought it would be helpful to put the main answers in one place.

When do promotions and demotions start counting?

Even though the Leagues update went live last week, the first promotion and demotion cycle starts counting today.

What do I need to do to get promoted?

You’ll need to earn LP, move into one of the promotion spots in your group, and remain within the promotion range when the current League settles.

Reaching the promotion range earlier in the week doesn’t guarantee promotion. Your final position at settlement is what counts.

When does the current League settle?

The current League settles on Monday, August 10 at 00:00 UTC.

After that, the next weekly League cycle begins.

Why are there bots in League groups?

Bots are currently included in League seeding, but we’ve seen your feedback and understand the confusion this has caused.

Bots will be removed from League seeding in an upcoming update, so they will no longer take positions in player groups.

What happens to Gems that have already been earned?

Any Gems already earned through the current League system will remain on those accounts.

This is the first full League cycle, so we’ll continue keeping an eye on how the groups, rankings, and progression feel throughout the week.

Feel free to leave any other League questions below. We’ll keep this post updated with anything else that needs clarification.

[KNOWN ISSUE] Premium items and persistent inbox notification

We’re aware of two issues following the latest update:

- Some previously equipped premium emojis and card guards may become locked again after being unequipped or rearranged.

- The tournament ticket refund notification may remain in your inbox after being opened.

Neither of these behaviors is intentional. We’re working on fixes, and they’re planned for the next update.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks to everyone who reported these issues.

[UPDATE] Spotted these yet? 👀

A couple of smaller things from the new update:

You can now see how many people are playing in the League Rooms right from the lobby, like the Diamonds room shown here.

There’s also a new Friends tab, right next to the Inbox icon, where you can find and add other players. You can also add someone during a game by tapping their avatar. From the Friends tab, you’ll be able to see when your friends are online and which table they’re playing at.

Leagues are already live, so you can get a head start this weekend before the first full week kicks off on Monday.

Have you tried any of the new stuff yet?

u/SocialPokerMod — 22 days ago

The Giga Update is here 🚀

This one brings a lot of the stuff we’ve been working on to Reddit.

There’s more progression, more reasons to keep playing, new stakes to work toward, and a lot more ways to customize your game.

Here’s some of what’s new:

🏆 Leagues
Climb from Bronze to Legend, earn League Points as you play, and compete for weekly promotions and rewards.

♠️ League Rooms
New tables with different stakes and LP rewards. As you move up through the Leagues, you’ll have more rooms to unlock and play toward.

🌐 Crossplay
The Sandbar new table now lets Reddit and SocialPoker.gg players sit and play together.

We’re still testing crossplay, so if you jump into Sandbar and notice anything weird, let us know.

Quests
Complete objectives while you play and pick up extra rewards along the way.

💎 More customization
Earn Gems and use them on Card Guards, reactions, rings, and other ways to make your game feel more like yours.

Overall, this update gives you a lot more to work toward. Climb the Leagues, unlock higher-stakes tables, earn new rewards, customize your game, and keep building your way up.

Give it a try and let us know what you think.

[UPDATE] We Updated SocialPoker.gg With Your Feedback 🃏

Want an early look at what’s coming to Reddit? You can play it now on SocialPoker.gg:

We just pushed a new update:

  • Rejoining a cash game now moves you to a different table
  • If you leave while all-in, the hand now finishes correctly and any winnings are credited normally
  • Weekly league rewards now settle automatically after the week ends
  • Fixed completed quests that didn’t award gems
  • Shootout hands now count properly toward hand quests
  • Borderline chat messages now receive a warning instead of a harsher penalty
  • Moderation is now consistent—the same message will always receive the same result
  • Smoother tables and fewer startup connection issues

Some of these issues were first reported here on Reddit—thank you for pointing them out.

The full update is on our Discord Server. Join us there to talk about the game, share your thoughts, and follow what we’re working on next.

[TABLE TALK] Have you ever played in a poker tournament?

Before I knew how poker tournaments worked, I imagined every one of them looked like Casino Royale.

A huge table. Everyone in suits. Dramatic stares. Someone risking their entire fortune on one hand.

What was the first image that came to your mind when you heard “poker tournament”?

Have you ever played in one with other people, online or in person? I’d love to hear what it was actually like.

With League divisions coming to Reddit, from Bronze all the way up to Legend, it also got me wondering whether tournaments with players around the same level could be fun.

[GIGA UPDATE] A major Social Poker update is coming to Reddit

Social Poker on Reddit is getting a GIGA UPDATE.

You’ll have more ways to play, compete, and show your level at the tables, whether you’re looking for a casual game or something that asks more of you.

The update will bring Leagues and new leaderboards, League Rooms with higher stakes, a reworked Shootout format with no bots and much more.

Here’s some of what’s coming:

🃏 League Rooms: Unlock new tables and higher stakes as you climb through the League divisions.

🏆 Player-only Shootouts: A reworked Shootout format where every seat belongs to a real player. No bots.

📈 Leagues and leaderboards: Compete in weekly divisions, climb your group ranking, and see how you stack up on the overall leaderboard.

🎯 Quests and rewards: More goals to chase and more things to earn while you play.

🎨 More customization: Rings, Frames, Card Guards, new reactions, and more ways to show off your style at the tables

🛠️ Stability matters too: New features only matter if the game runs reliably. This is a big bundle of connected systems, so we’re testing how everything works together on SocialPoker.gg, catching issues early, and making adjustments before bringing the full update to Reddit.

A lot of this is already live on SocialPoker.gg while we get everything ready for Reddit. Jump in, give it a try, and tell us what you like, what you don’t, and what you’d change. Your feedback will help us fine-tune the update before it lands here.

Which part of the update do you want to try first?
