Portuguese gambit vs 3..Nxd5 in the modern Scandinavian

Portuguese gambit vs 3..Nxd5 in the modern Scandinavian

Around 1400 USCF and 2000 rapid chess.com, I almost always play the 2..Nf6 Scandinavian against e4, but have no idea what to play against d4, which is objectively the best response. After doing a bit of research, I found 2 options: the Portuguese gambit with 3..Bg4 and 3..Nxd5. Which variation do you all prefer and why?

TD software question

Just got certified as a TD and my first event is coming up. Trying to figure out what to use for Swiss pairings and submitting ratings to US Chess.

Everyone points to SwissSys and WinTD, but you can only use them on windows, and I only have a mac(and my phone). I'd rather not buy Parallels and a Windows license just for this if there's another way.

A few questions for the experienced TDs:

  • Is there anything Mac-friendly, web-based, or mobile that handles Swiss pairing and produces a valid US Chess rating report?
  • If not, what do Mac users actually do?

Rook endings seem to be one of the most common endgames to encounter, but I absolutely suck at it. How would you all recommend studying rook endings, and not just philodor and lucena, but practical endgame resources. Thanks!

I am 2000 rapid chess.com and 1200 USCF. I know the difference between these ratings is big, but most people with 2000 chess.com usually have much higher ratings than me. Is this normal?
