A lot of fun to ride. Might convert it to a cargo bike to use for work but first I’m gonna try one of those low wire baskets on the front rack to carry half my load and I’ll carry the other half in a back pack.
If that don’t work I’ll get a cargo fork/20 inch wheel and a bigger basket and carry everything in there

I started a bike messenger job and was looking at cargo bikes with the 20 inch front wheel, then I came across mini velos and foldables like the origami swift.
I currently use a steel commuter bike with a step-thru frame and 27.5 inch wheels and 3 speed internal gear hub. It gets the job done but the bike is pretty heavy and slow. Also, I carry a big/heavy 55 liter back pack and its really starting to wreak havoc on my upper back/neck because I am constantly taking the bag off and putting it back on.
So now I'm looking for a bike that I can put a front rack on with a decent size basket/bag. This way I can carry a much smaller backpack and put half my load in the front basket. The rear rack will be for the occasional box they give me that doesn't fit in my bag. The only problem is I would need a basket or bag that is lockable because I am carrying sensitive packages (medications) and even if I am leaving the bike unattended for a few minutes at the most, I am worried that someone will steal my work load.
I remember test riding a xootr swift years ago and was impressed with how fast it was. Has anyone ridden the new swift? Would you recommend it for messenger work? Oh, I'm also considering a mini velo for when I am too tired or want to conserve energy I can easily hop on the train with the bike to get to and from my pick up location.
If not the swift, do you have any other bikes in mind that would suit my needs? Oh, I also need something that can fit fenders because I will be working in rain as well.
