First (metric) century on my 1987 Saronni restomod

First (metric) century on my 1987 Saronni restomod

Just swapped out the chrome fork for a 20th century carbon Colnago fork. Really fast bike: SRAM Rival 11 shifters, Mavic 50mm wheels and Campy Power Torque cranks.

Photo taken in the shadow of Arnsberg Castle in central Bavaria.

Ultegrated 1985 Peugeot PH11

I can finally show you my Ultegrated 1985 Peugeot PH11 🚀

I bought it for 40€ here in France and ended up spending far too much time and money on the restoration. It was a long and difficult journey, but I’m quite proud of the result !

Rear brake: Tektro R559 long reach

Bike update: Resto-Mods are rad

Bike update after finishing it up & getting a few rides in. For those wondering if you should do a resto-mod, do it. They’re unbelievably fun & super affordable. This build cost me around $500 US & weighs the same as a modern mid range bike. 86 or 87 sr1000 or 2000 manufactured on Jan 11th 1986 size 58 frame #12 in production run.

Fausto Coppi Campionissimo

I finished my second old frame build, with the best Campagnolo groupset ever, the Super Record 11sp and Fulcrum R0 Comp. Final weight 8,4kg! Seatpost, stem and Handlebar are heavy for sure, so it is possible to go a lil bit down with the weight (i don't really care)

2013 Ridley Helium SL with Shimano 105 Di2.

Not sure a 13 year old frame classifies as "vintage"

1998 Serotta Legend Ti

1998 58cm Legend Ti

I'm the second owner, bought it in 2003 and have put thousands of miles on it in the Sauratown Mts. Everything on it has been replaced except to OG Dura Ace caliper brakes. Currently running 105 levers. Mid 00's AlphaQ fork (came with a Serotta Carbon fork that was totaled when I hit a dog in 2008 or so). Great bike, holds it's own with my 2019 TRC.

Good source of Campy parts in MSP

I’m looking for some older Campagnolo parts for my bike. Basically, it’s Record right gear-shifter lever from the 10 speed era (part # EC-RE328). It’s very likely that eBay may be my only option but before I overpay for it online, I wonder if anyone knows a good local shop that deals with Campy. I’ve tried Flanders, One on One, ACF but without success. Let me know if you have any advice. Thanks.

DBR Prevail Ti

Update on my Ti bike. Got the Ritchey fork in this week and switched over to a threadless nitto cockpit

2008 Ridley Crossfire—

My eBay special bike. NOS frame and fork: 2008 Ridley. Original was 10 speed. Set up with 10 speed grx for a modern take. 2x10 speed GRX through Tiagra shifters for the cantilevers. Hunt alloy wheels running tubeless with 35 mm Schwalbe G-One tires.

Threw in a leftover Fizik saddle, Zwift seatpost, Bontrager stem, m carbon handlebars, and blender mount on clearance from Trek.

GT Edge Aero

Just wrapped this one up. I had to keep reminding myself that late 90s are now “vintage.” I love vintage aero framed bikes especially the stuff Tienmeyer was putting out at the time. Yes, today’s stuff is more aerodynamic but it almost none of it looks aero.

Got a screaming deal on the components via eBay and was able to run an almost complete 2x9 Ultegra setup. I went with an FSA gossamer crankset and a set of Shimano clipless that I had in the parts bin. The Fizik Arione wing is my favorite saddle so of course it went on. It’s all FSA carbon in the cockpit and an Amazon special carbon front fork that was surprisingly high quality.

Sadly, I’m a bit too tall to ride this as anything other than a race bike (and I’m not competitive enough to really put myself through all of that) but it is a surprisingly comfortable ride.

Check out my new bike

A lot of fun to ride. Might convert it to a cargo bike to use for work but first I’m gonna try one of those low wire baskets on the front rack to carry half my load and I’ll carry the other half in a back pack.

If that don’t work I’ll get a cargo fork/20 inch wheel and a bigger basket and carry everything in there

First full rebuild!!

First time going from the bare frame to a complete bike, very happy with how it turned out!

1987 Trek Cirrus 520, Reynolds 531 Steel, scooped up the bike on Facebook for $40 then stripped it down and cleaned it all up. The paint job really looks incredible in the sun.

Kept the shimano 600 brake levers, FD, vesta hatta headset, modolo x-tenos drop bars.

Originally had a freewheel 6 speed and 3 chainrings. Dropped a chainring, got a new set of wheels and threw on a new cassette to make it a 2x8. Found a used Sport LX shimano RD at a local shop that works well enough for the conversion. Had a lot of fun with this one

Tough up for components!

My 82 Velo Sport needs a new rear cassette, so naturally I'm interested in making some big changes. I'd like;

700c Wheels

1x10 or maybe 2x10 drive train, brake shifters.

Whats the best way to achieve this in the most cost effective way? My local area is dry for parts bikes on the marketplaces, and anything thats viable is apparently worth a "premium" as vintage.

1970s Staiger Trento

This is my early 1970s Staiger Trento, a road bike frame, made in west Germany. I cold-set the rear chainstays to fit a 26" MTB rim paired with an 80s Shimano road free hub. Bored out the bottom bracket to press fit a BB30, added amazon crank arms and an oval chainring. Microshift bar end shifter, crappy SRAM derailer from 2000s Huffy (also where I got the rims and bars). Random fork I found on amazon with cool paint.

Ridden on New England single track mostly. Great at climbing, sketchy through rock gardens. Ton of fun.

Free bike fixed up

Got this Oryx Équipe 3000 for free over winter; the lady said it was her husband’s dream bike as a teenager so I’d like to think I’ve done it some justice getting it going again. Managed to salvage a lot of the parts that came on it, and got the rest from my parts bin. It’s a little bit too small for me but it’s fun to ride and a lot lighter than my other bike. Fait ici, roulé ici. Bonne Saint-Jean
