The metallic arms of her once beautiful Frame sprouted from her back like the branches of an oak tree, their movements ethereally beautiful despite the immense weight of her current form. Beneath the mass of writhing steel and muscle, her heart still soldiered on, every beat sending ripples through her form like rings on the surface of water. In the cold nights, you'd held one another close. To the rest of the cadre, you'd explained it like a survival tactic for the arctic winter. Not that anyone had believed you.

Her laughter echoing off the walls of the cavern brought you back to reality. That was then. This was now. The Handler's orders were absolute. She had to die, just like the rest of them.

My name is Roro and I would love to run a game of GIRL FRAME. At its core, the game is about the struggle to hold onto one's humanity in a world intent on taking it away. You will take the role of Girls, lesbian pilots piloting half-living mech suits. You are sent by your Handler to kill Gorgons, who are eldritch being from outside of our reality. It's a sci-fi horror ttrpg, using a version of the Powered by the Apocalypse engine, which means you will take actions proactively, instead of waiting for your GM to prompt them like in other systems.

Structure: The game follows a unique structure, in that players take a much more active role in shaping many of the scenes they are in. In this way, it borrows from the freeform 1-on-1 style of roleplaying, where all parties share a greater responsibility in portraying the circumstances around them. On top of their more usual duties, your GM (That's me!) will also be taking the role of your Handler, who is the person responsible for the base fulfilling its intended objective, but most importantly: Making sure the Girls (That's you!) stay in line and do as they are told.

You will mess with one another to gain status, give and receive orders, forge deep bonds through your struggles and employ every tactic available to ensure you survive in a world that views you as disposable. But remember, good Girls always do as they are told.

Girls?: In GIRL FRAME, all pilots are referred to as Girls. Legally, you are not people and because of this, any objections to the designation of Girl will fall on deaf ears.

Content Warnings: There's a lot. Transphobia/Misgendering (in the sense that all pilots are designated as Girls), homophobia, sexism, drug abuse, authoritarian rule, suicide, nonconsensual surgical procedures, loss of bodily autonomy, hallucinations, memory loss, body horror, gore, dehumanization, sexual assault, brainwashing, torture, ableism, sex.

Touchstones: The game (both the setting and this campaign in particular) takes inspiration from the Mechsploitation Genre (Warhound most notably), Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gundam (Particularly Iron Blooded Orphans and The Witch from Mercury), SIGNALIS, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Chainsaw Man. I am also told that the setting takes inspiration from Warframe and Armored Core, but I am not personally familiar with those.

Me as a GM: I'm Roro, 24 years old and living in the UK (GMT timezone, but I'm a bit of a night owl). Professionally, I am a hair stylist, but I dream of being a writer. My pronouns are she/her and I'm a woman. I have been running a handful of games before, but I am not a super experienced GM. I promise I'll try though. Got a decade's worth of pbp experience, with different systems and more freeform 1-on-1 games. I enjoy messy relationships, difficult choices, toxic power dynamics, heartbreaking betrayals and explosive violence, so you can expect the game to lean into those aspects. I am well aware that the content warning list was very long, but I promise that I will do my best to handle these things well. I recently finished another campaign, so you will have my full attention (in terms of pbp writing) for the foreseeable future. Expect 1-5 posts from me every day.

You as a player: I am looking for players who want to lean into the themes of the game as described earlier. If you are someone who enjoys seeing your characters go through hell, you'll enjoy this game. Because of the themes the game deals with, I will only be accepting women and non-binary players. It is ultimately a comfort thing for me.

Even if this is by no means a PVP game, there will be elements of player characters acting against the best interest of one another. Pinning the blame for a mistake on someone else, to redirect the Handler's wrath, is a classic. I am absolutely not saying that you have to play someone who would do that, but it is important that players are okay with such things being done in general. I'm a very chatty person and enjoy other chatty people. Sharing memes OOC, playlists and such is more than encouraged. I expect you to post at least daily. Breaks and absences are expected and reasonable of course. Just do your best to keep us in the loop. Remember, good Girls do not shy away from terrible phoneposts.

AI: No. No exceptions. We play GIRL FRAME to momentarily swap out our own dystopia for another. There ain't no need to blend them.

Safety Tools: In GIRL FRAME, sex as a theme is definitely present. There are even mechanics around it, where it can be used as a tool to influence others and gain various personal benefits. I do NOT intend for this to be an ERP game though. In practice, this means that even if we establish certain overarching details about such scenes, there won't be any actual ERP. What this means more specifically and how to handle it in practice is something we'll have to discuss as a group.

The Handler I'll portray won't be very friendly and accommodating, but I will always try my very hardest to be OOC. As part of the applications, I will gather a list of lines and veils that will be publicly available in the server (anonymously). Do note that just because something isn't on that list doesn't mean players aren't allowed to be uncomfortable by it, if something happens during a scene which they aren't okay with. If that happens, please DM me and I will pivot away from it or handle it as necessary.

Application: If all of the above sounds very cool, you should totally fill in the application. If you haven't played GIRL FRAME before, that is very much okay. I'll provide the book to everyone and will do my best to teach you. I don't have a lot of experience with it either. As mentioned before, I will only be accepting women and non-binary players for comfort reasons. Game is very much LGBT+ friendly.
