Autistic self employed

As an autistic person, Is It better to be self-employed? I've been looking for a job for months, hoping to not have to go back to some toxic factory job, but It's really difficult.

I'm 25, I have some experience, but Its all unskilled jobs where they hired people in batch. Before that I did lots of failed interviews, but I hoped that now having some experience would make it easier. Now I had interviews for maintenance, warehouse, gardener, garbage collector, plant nursery, but I didn't received any offers, despite doing all the rehearsal, smiling, asking questions and so on. To me It's really depressing because I know that even after getting the job, there would probably be lots of other issues, like bullying, isolation and so on.

How to be more proactive

(Im 25 and unemployed) In the last 3 months I've been looking for a job. After some negative experiences with collegues, and the feeling of never fitting in, and the struggle of spending all day socializing, I decided to look for a less social job.

But at the 2 interviews I've been, as a cleaner and then as a garbageman, they told me they were looking for someone proactive that could handle interactions with clients. I'm afraid they could have sensed my awkwardness, even though I said I'm a hard worker and that I'm good at interacting with clients, and tried to act confident (talking clearly, keeping eye contact, asking questions and so on).

How can I look more proactive and pleasant?
