Sextortion help.
I would love to share my story as a victim of sextortion. I hope through this story many find some calm in their mind.
I got scammed 3 months ago due to the lack of my ability to stop when i saw the red flags talking to someone i meet in a chatroom. Things quickly escalated to the girl i was talking to wanted to take things on telegram. Instantly when i logged a very pretty woman send me a nude of her (i know this could never happen and that was the biggest red flag i ignored) and she asked me to do the same. I had the confidence that in telegram you have the ability to send a photo that the other person can't screenshot or download so i did send one photo. She sent more of her requesting a video. And silly me i did sent what she asked for. She then asked for my insta. I had everything locked (or so i believed) so i sent her that one too.
Next thing i know she got back if my friends list screenshoted (which was the only anlocked section on my insta) and the photos and videos i sent they took photos with another device threatening to destroy my life. I got in shock and panic mode instantly.
They demanded big amounts of money in order to not make me famous on all of my insta friends and family. Funny enough I opened chat gpt and started searching while i was getting threatened by them to see what i can do. In that time gpt was talking about not sending money to anyone online trying to scam you because thats all rhey have as leverage against you. After some time of back and forth they undestood that they were not getting any money from me so they deleted the chat we had both for their self and for me so i couldn't see anything. I had screenshots of all already. Its now been 3 months and i haven't heard of them since. Maybe they have my content in some file on a pc or in some phone, or maybe they deleted it. It doesn't matter. Life goes one and those guys will continue to ruin lifes as a daily job. Its not personal with you.
Best thing you can do is close your social for a while and go silent. Then come back with new emails and accounts and your life will go on. They will move to the next target sooner or later.
Talk to the ones you love and the ones that care about you. Dont stay inside your head you will make the problem bigger than it is. Everyone that truly loves you will be there for you. You just made a mistake and will learn through that by life goes on.
