Losing my mind guys.. I matched a guy on an app we texted right after. they said they were 17 i deleted the texts and the number. next day woke up to a video from the number. i forgot who it was as i deleted the text. I replied. got a call 2 hours later from an investigator claiming to be from charleston south carolina. said what i did would be 15-30 years jail time and the person was actually 15. i was panicking. He handed the phone to dad who said they broke a sliding glass door and they sent a picture of the door. said they got an estimate for the door its 4000 dollars. i said id pay and they wanted apple pay i said cashapp. the cashapp they gave me was a seperate number. so 4 seperate phone numbers now. at this point i hung up and sent nothing. that was a week ago and i still cant get it off my mind. just want help

I know this will seem suspicious since my account is very new. I will explain everything in the rest of this post. The story begins here on reddit where i met a girl that was supposedly 21 years old. I messaged her and she told me to dm her on telegram. She asked me for a dick pic that I stupidly sent and then asked me to show my face to make sure I wasnt a bot. Again being the idiot that I am I sent the picture. Then she asked me to add her as a contact. After all of that she showed me a post she had supposedly made, threatening to post it online, claiming she was a minor. She then asked me for 200€ on steam cards which i stupidly gave and then continued to ask for more, money which I genuinely do not have. I blocked her and now here we are 3 hours later. Please I need help or atleast some calming words, I already got really close to hurting myself

I got sextorted yesterday i sent them a total of 400eu and then they kept asking for more they showed my followers on instagram and my photos and said that they will send it to them they also showed a photo of that they sent it to somebody then i asked that person and they said they didnt receive anything its now one day later and im so scared the account on instagram is banned but im scared they will make another account and send it to them there please help i wanna kms

Recently a person got hold of my photos and I got blackmailed into sending more I blocked him wrote an email with screenshots to abuse abuse@telegram.org i dont have his mobile number just his user ID

i wrote mail twice now its been days i havent got a reply nor do i see his account gone everyday i see him online scared that he might use my pic as currency

should i wait more

I wanted to share my experience because I know how terrifying this scam can be.

I matched with someone from the Philippines, and we ended up having a video/sex chat. After that, they demanded money and threatened to send the videos and screenshots to people from my Instagram.

To scare me, they even sent screenshots of my barber's Instagram profile and the people who had liked his posts, claiming they would send everything to them. I honestly thought my life was over.

Thankfully, I didn't pay.

Instead, I:

• Blocked them on Instagram.
• Blocked their phone number.
• Saved screenshots of all the threats.
• Reported the case to the appropriate authorities.
• Submitted my images to a service that helps detect and prevent intimate images from being shared online.
• Stopped replying completely.

It's now been 3 days, and nothing has happened. No one has contacted me, my barber hasn't received anything, and as far as I know, nothing has been leaked.

I know every situation is different, but if you're going through this right now:

• Don't send money.
• Don't negotiate with them.
• Block them everywhere.
• Save all the evidence.
• Report the incident to the appropriate authorities.
• If you're worried about your images being shared, use services that help prevent the spread of intimate images online.
• Remember that they rely on fear to make you panic.

For the first couple of days, I was constantly checking my phone, convinced they were going to ruin my life. Looking back, I think they mainly wanted quick money. Once they realized they weren't getting any, they most likely moved on to another target.

Hi this happened 2 and a half years ago when I was still a teenager this person added me the bitmoji was a boy but the snaps were girls I sent them found out it was a boy it was a weird scenario they didn’t try and black mail me but I blocked them they only had my snap username which contained my first name and second initial nothings happened since I don’t think about it really but I get gutt feelings am I fine just want some feedback

So this girl added me on tiktok and she seemed genuine and she asked for my phone number but she said it didn't work so she asked for my WhatsApp then we exchanged a few explicit photos then boom she showed me my images and my tiktok contacts and threatened to leak me. I blocked them in both and set my prophile to private. I'm pretty worried and whats the chance they will leek me

My dump ass got sextorted yesterday. Never thought I could be this dumb I am so ashamed. I blocked and reported them already on IG but the account still exists. Do you know a better way to make them get banned? Can you help?

Otherwise they will continue scamming people

Hello, 13 days ago I matched with a scammer on tinder and they convinced me to give them my WhatsApp number. I blocked them on everything, what is the percent chance I hear back at this point from the scammer or any unknown numbers related to this? Is it unlikely they are going to follow up given this much time has passed? I am never downloading a dating app again 🤦‍♂️. I blocked them before they had a chance to ask for money

She is currently doing scaming blackmail and sextortion while trying to post nudes videos of me on the fucking internet and social media and to my lovely relatives

She's a scammer trying to blackmail and sextortion and bonus she's using someone else photo has her own which impersonation someone to make a profit IT ILLEGAL ASWELL

A friend of mine is going through something really disturbing. Someone is blackmailing her by threatening to leak her private intimate videos. She had given her phone for repair, and it appears someone there copied the videos. I told her to report it to the cybercrime authorities instead of giving in to the blackmail, but she's terrified. Cases like these are heartbreaking because some people become so overwhelmed by fear and shame that they even unalives themselves..

My question isn't meant to blame anyone, I'm genuinely trying to understand. Why do people record intimate videos of themselves in the first place? Even if you trust your partner completely, phones can be stolen, hacked, repaired by strangers, or accounts can be compromised. Is the moment really worth the lifelong risk if those videos ever fall into the wrong hands?

so basically this person wanted to sext with me and i said yes and we exchanged and all of a sudden he threatened me to give him money i managed to make 100 into a 30 gift card so i blocked this persone but i still have his phone number and the insta account he first talked to me with. i also have a snap account if that helps

Hey everyone. First time posting here because I could use some outside perspective.

Yesterday I was on Omegle and ended up in an explicit session with someone. I dont feel very proud about it, was my first time, and was feeling kinda lonely since my personal life became a mess lately. Felt disgusted about it after but cant change the fact that it happened.

So out of the blue the camera "glitched" and she asked to move to Instagram, then to Discord. Shortly after, she sent me screenshots of my camera during the moment, along with a screenshot of a group chat she'd created on Instagram with a couple of my friends, threatening to send them the video.

I immediately hung up, blocked her on Discord and Instagram, set my IG to private.

She kept sending threats for a bit ("I'll make you trending", "talk to me before it's too late", etc — I've seen near-identical wording in other posts here). I never responded to a single message.

Since then:

• The group chat she made with my friends disappeared on its own about 10 minutes after she sent the threat and some photos there
• Her account now shows as "user not found" when I try to look it up
• I went back on Omegle out of curiosity to see if she was still there and saw what looked like the same person/pre-recorded loop, trying to run the same scheme within 10 minutes
• It's been over 24 hours since any contact attempt from her

I've read similar stories here, but in my case i never even gave a single response to any message/threat after i figured out it was a scam, i just ignored and blocked (honestly because i was freaking out). The scammer did send the photos to that group but it was taken down fast enough so nobody saw. Im just worried about it being spread further or the scammer trying to contact again.

Should i be worried? I will keep the no contact even if they end up trying to contact with threats again.

But I'd really appreciate hearing from others who went through something similar — did the silence hold for you? Did anyone come out the other side of this and confirm nothing was ever shared further?

i was catfished way back 2020 and blackmailed for 3 years. i was so scared to go to nbi or report him because im afraid that my family and friends will know so i followed all his demands for 3 fucking years. i've sent a lot of videos because he was blackmailing and threatens me that he will post it online. it stopped in 2024 because i blocked him and im done with all the blackmails. now its 2026, he came back and demanding again to do his requests or else, he will release all of my videos and will message my family. i really dont know what to do now. im so fucking scared and all i have is his number in viber. i tried checking it on gcash, whatsapp and telegram but it doesn't show his name. is there any way that i can trace his number and identify his identity? what should i do now? please help.

I got sextorted today from this ”girl” we were talking and outta nowhere of nowhere she sends me her nudes and I got tempted and I sent a pic with no face in it hours after I get a text from the “dad” saying that she was underage and he’s going to try to get me arrested and that hell forgive me if I pay. some kinda bull crap story that she ended up breaking a table and a tv and he’s demanding 2500 for it and he wants me to pay him with western union which he’s probably not in this country and the numbers he’s texted me off are all different states zip codes and the names of his wife’s accounts are all different girl names and his name is like three different names

what should I do? should I block it because he’s going to message me again tomorrow to get me to pay him quick

19m was talking to someone for a few days, she got me comfortable with her and wanted said that she wanted to "naughty things" we did for a little then she sent me screenshots saying that she would release them ruining my life. I started to panic and sent her 100. Now I have 2 weeks to send her 800. I don't know what to do, my life's already hell and if she releases those I'll probably end up killing myself. I don't know what to do any help would be amazing.

How could this happen to me? I am well educated idk man what I was thinking. All they got is a selfie (normal one) and a pic of well you know what without my face. Unfortunately they got a screenshot with my ig followers. They threaten to send the chat and the pictures out to all my friends. I immediately blocked them. My account is already private. Fucked up and gave my # to an account that over text threatened to send my pics to family and employer unless I sent $2000.

Blocked immediately, they messaged from another #, haven’t messaged since and it’s been ~15 min. Blocked that # too.

Anyone have experience with a scammer actually following through with their threat if you block them immediately? Ideally would like that to not happen.

I was talking to this guy and he seemed my age and cute and I sent things, nudity didn’t have my face but it had the wall and bedsheets clearly visible from my face pics he also had. I’m so scared he said he’ll send them to my entire insta following list. I told him I was 18, omg I feel so fucking stupid. I blocked him and I know I shouldn’t have but I deleted everything. I follow myself on some random throw away account and nothing was sent to that one but it’s still so scary I have no idea how to tell if he did without asking someone and I don’t want to I hate this
