Got over my fear! [Canada's Wonderland]

I had a HUGE fear of roller coasters, I went a couple months ago to Canada's Wonderland and rode Dragon Fyre and felt such intense panic and fear and couldnt stop shaking after the ride ahah. I tried a couple more tame ones and the fear id feel was so intense id want to burst into tears as the lap bar came down.

I had gone in high school and would wait/hold bags while everyone else went on and I didnt want to miss out anymore.

Well yesterday I went with my friend again and I told myself I was not scared, just excited. I had researched coasters so much and their mechanics so I knew i was safe. Halfway on the ride I threw my hands up and just let myself "lose control" and oh my god! I had such a blast. I went on Behemoth, Leviathan, The Vortex, Daredeviler and The Bat. none of those freaked me out at all and I even rode at the front for The Bat.

This feels so huge to me because ive always wanted to love coasters and now I do. I want to go on even more intense ones, more loops more heights!!

I just wanted to share because im really really proud of myself. i even had my hands up on Leviathan! I didnt think id be able to get over this fear but I did. :)

Advice on first time boundary setting please

Hi all. I really could use some advice/if i am over reacting here. Im going to keep it vague because im scared my mom will find this post somehow.

My whole life ive been VERY scared of my mom. She has very bad anxiety, depression and i needed to be the rock for her. I always felt i had to walk on eggshells, some little things would set her off to "you dont love me", tears screaming saying she wants to die. She once tried to commit in front of me. She also says I dont repay her back for her sacrifices she made for me.

I really feel like ive been a good child. I never ever fought back, I never was smart with her. I always took what she said and listened to her and tried to see her side. But my whole life ive felt like, with anything, the biggest thing is always "but what will my mom think?" Even now im my 30s i cant spend time with friends if it interrupts our daily phone calls. I schedule my life around those.

We got in a huge argument the other day which has not calmed down yet. I just told her I could not do what she wanted me to do, and she has been pushing it since. She said not to come to her funeral, that shes not enough, now she has to go to the doctor/emergency because im breaking down her body with stress, im cruel. She said im fucked up in the head. That is should want to spend my life with her.

I dont know what to do. Ive never ever set boundaries and this is causing me so so so much anxiety. I feel sick to my stomach, scared of our next conversation and I just want to hide.

Im sorry this is rant-y. I made an appointment with a therapist to help, but in the meantime before that I have no idea how to handle this. I feel so guilty but this has gotten so extreme.

Thank you kindly.

Moving to adelaide?

Hey everyone!

Im considering moving back home to Adelaide (i live overseas in america)- Ive done some research and also visited. Im moving mainly to be closer to family and make more money (i essentially work to exist right now, i LOVE my job but the wages are lower here and im just barely scraping by with the high cost of living).

Im not someone who goes out a lot but I do enjoy beaches, hiking, trails, going out for food and stuff like that. I have friends here, and my job although not lots of money is very stable and I have a lot of perks that come with it. Leaving behind friends is also scary. I dont have anyone super close to me but I have built some solid, caring people around me.

Obviously its weird to ask strangers online, but what do you guys like about living in adelaide? I know the beaches are gorgeous, good restaurants. I just wonder about day to day life. This is a huge move for me and anything that helps me make this decision is kindly welcomed.
