Rescued this Amiga 2000 from an engineer’s estate. First successful boot after bringing it back to life.

I thought some of you might appreciate this.
A few weeks ago I acquired an Amiga 2000 from the estate of an engineer. The machine had been sitting for years along with hundreds of floppy disks, original software, manuals, newsletters, and documentation.

The first thing I did was remove the leaking barrel battery before it caused any damage. Fortunately, it looks like I caught it in time.
After replacing the power supply, troubleshooting a few issues, and reinstalling the original GVP hardware, it finally booted back into Workbench.

The system includes:
GVP 68030 accelerator
GVP RAM expansion
Original GVP manuals
Hundreds of original software disks and backups
User Group newsletters and documentation.

I’m currently testing and imaging the software archive so nothing is lost before deciding what to do with the collection.

This machine has been a fun reminder of just how expandable the Amiga 2000 was. Seeing it come back to life after decades was incredibly satisfying.
Thanks to everyone here whose old posts have helped me troubleshoot along the way.
