Struggling with lack of volatility in my market

I prop trade west power and so far this summer has been fairly uneventful price-wise with most hubs bound by the same ~$5-7 range outside of the front strips. To top it off wide bid/asks and <200 MW of total volume traded have become the daily norm.

Im feeling pressure to deliver PnL yet there hasn’t been much price action in either direction compared to other markets. It’s been really draining to come in everyday and see nothing move materially outside of the occasional spike/dip over the last few months.

If there’s any other power/gas traders who’ve been in a similar spot I’d really appreciate any insight or advice.

Any relief for Henry Hub?

After a bearish run last week HH prompt dumping another 20 cents this weej was not on my bingo card. After a hot start in the east it looks like there’s not much support left in the bal mo. outside of the West. Any gas traders have insight on if we’ve bottomed out or there’s more room to fall?

Why is MidC pricing still so soft?

Given that we’re about to go into an extreme El Niño this summer with the PNW getting hit especially hard combined with its drought, MidC prices continue to chop around the same range. Seems like it’s underpriced when there’s a ton of tail risk when you factor in wildfire risk and the implications for transmission, so why isn’t the market reacting as such? Are traders waiting for the heat to actually materialize? Apologies for the super niche post but if there’s any power/gas traders covering West that have insight I would really appreciate it.

West Power Desks in NYC?

Anyone know of any power desks in NYC that cover WECC/CAISO? I know Brookfield, LS, and BP have a desk there, but the rest seem to be based either in Houston or Calgary from what I’ve seen on LinkedIn. For context I’m looking to make a move to NYC, but not really open to reverse commuting to Stamford if I can avoid it.
