I fucking despise everyone online right now, they’re so fucking negative, apathetic and just clinical to be around, I have been getting into debates with people lately as a friend of mine invited me to a discord server and they made me realise how stupid people can truly be.

The one common thing: the oversimplification of human nature.

Recently my friend and I had an argument over gender as we were in call goofing off, he was scrolling TikTok and went on some short monologue (assuming he was reading the videos text) on how women don’t feel safe walking home after dark. Which I in turn responded with “well yeah it’s pretty reasonable since like one in three women will get sexually assaulted in their lifetime”. And he instantly went to ‘but what about the men who get sexually assaulted?’ (Which as a man I completely agree is important, but not at all what was being discussed) after that it was a long tangent about false allegations, men’s mental health getting ignored and a lot of other things. That discussion lead us down a pipeline of home humans are basically no better than animals. IE: “people are simple in relationships, i tolerate you, you tolerate me, we don’t hate each other and that’s how we go about life when in relationships” which just feels so fucking miserable and fundamentalist. After that we went on about our views good and evil, which while I believe everyone has their own opinions and should be respected, he said his views in such an obnoxious and apathetic way I had to really think if this was the same friend I made years ago. I made the point that if a person say kills a child unprovoked, that is fundamentally evil, then he retorted with “well if the killer enjoyed it, that was a good to them” like what? That’s not how good and bad works, in my opinion there is objective good and evil. Lastly we were discussing cheating as I brought it up in the good vs bad discussion and he said a woman cheating sexually is way more morally wrong than a man cheating sexually as she has to ‘let herself get penetrated’ which is far more ‘emotional’ apparently which I find stupid as if you cheat, I believe regardless of gender it’s a moral failing. After which he brought up the fact I was homeschooled and tried to play the ‘more wise and worldly card’ by saying I was more sheltered and don’t understand how the world works.

But this has happened with the people in the server I’ve thankfully since left, saying things such as “women’s interests are on average less interesting than men’s” which I made the rebuttal that “environmental factors affect how a person acts, like if I was born in a household that hated a specific race, I’d likely follow in those footsteps as that’s the only thing I was exposed to growing up”. which they then tried to counter me with some flimsy argument about how ‘if you had enough IQ, you’d be able to see through it’ which doesn’t make any sense as I have an IQ of 147 and I consider myself a major dumbass in a lot of things. IQ doesn’t instantly make you smart in specific ways especially as a child whose mind is being moulded by your environment. But it made me really see how many people like to act as intellectuals by making themselves seem above people like a ‘false observer’ kinda.

Kinda long winded rant since I’m just really pissed off but yeah. Fuck those guys.
