Insurance?

If you are married to an LAUSD employee and on their insurance, can you also get LAUSD insurance? Or is that double dipping and they'll deny you?

55 with wisdom tooth cavity

My dentist has been telling me for years to get this old wisdom tooth (upper right) removed, but it didn't give me problems, and money is tight. Today she tells me it has a cavity (wasn't on the x-rays, or at least she didn't point it out) and needs to go as it can't be filled. I am scared of nerve damage and bone loss. And terrified of the cost as I am unemployed. Any advice or encouragement y'all can give? I just found this out today.

SPED trainee aide sub - on hold?

I have worked as a long-term sub sped trainee aide for the last (almost) full school year. I applied to become permanent. Application says I am "on hold" - can anyone explain what that means and what I should do? TIA!

Help- stylist today

Hi! I am 55 and not that attractive anymore (I don't wear a lot of makeup, have glasses and thin lips). My hair is quite thick and curly.

My 80YO mother is helping pay for my hair today, which I will have highlighted to cover the gray. She says I should cut it to just below my shoulders. It's about bra strap length now. I've always wanted it to my waist but never dared.

Do I take advantage of mom paying for my first haircut in over a year, or let it grow? I am no Instagram GenX hottie so IDK. Thanks in advance.

Sub sped trainee, do I get paid for pupil-free day?

My contact for West said no, but I'm seeing online that there's some form for long-term subs to get paid (I have been at my school nearly all year).

Will SPED assistant jobs ever open again?

I currently work as a sub trainee. My coworker, also a sub trainee, said the permanent position would be posted 6/1. I've been checking and no luck. Anyone have any insight?

I feel like they won't hire perm anymore, since they'll have to provide benefits etc to those jobs, and just keep subs subbing forever.
